Thread: Playing Tyrande

    Playing Tyrande

I really, REALLY love playing Tyrande. Unfortunately, especially in QM, I feel compelled to try to build her as a Support because most of the time the other team has a Lili and I want to make sure I can at least attempt to match her heals.

Unfortunately I think my favorite way to play her is with a Sentinel build and be a little more offensive. I'm extremely good at Sentinel snipes, and I'm at the point now where I can predict someone's actions in advance enough to land just about all of my Flares. And while I do provide some really decent damage, control through Flares, damage boosts on focus targets with Ranger's Mark, and zone control when I take Starfall... I have to wonder if I would be serving my team better as a Support if I instead built her for healing.

After quite a few games with her, this is typically what I try to run:
    http://www.heroesfire.com/hots/talen...r/tyrande#kFZV

Lately I've been taking the buffed Shadowstalk a bit more to help heals and maybe Storm Shield.

Anyone out there play a lot of Tyrande? What talents do you run and any comments on what I should do when I'm the only support on the team and I'm versus a Lili or some other really solid healer? Should I stick to what I'm good at or try to fill the healing role?

I've picked up Tyrande lately and been playing her quite some bit.
The times I am in QM and end up being the solo support, I might (depending on their comp) pick some healing talents but not always.

I tend to go for http://www.heroesfire.com/hots/talen...r/tyrande#kdiR usually.
If I'm solo support I go for http://www.heroesfire.com/hots/talen...r/tyrande#hByX

But tbf, it really depends on comp. I've been going full dmg build when I had a johanna and a raynor in my team, since those heroes have quite some self sustain.
It also depends on enemy comp. If they have squishies, I still go dmg build - specially with a Morales in their team.

I built her as damage regardless of the enemy comp. Still had a decent winrate! :P

I feel the same way OP. Im at work so links are working for me but I prefer to go : reduced cd on mark, pierce, more range on flare, either ult really, the increased heal when im above 50% hp, the sentinel does more dmg talent, and then either stormshield or nexus frenzy or rewind.

I think its pretty balanced and I can do decent offhealing while getting the snipes in. Im usually the only "healer" in QM's tho so I end up always getting shadowstalk and stormshield, and sometimes ill even get healing tot because ppl in qm's suck and don't stomp it.

If I have a healer and we are lacking damage, sometimes ill fuck with a AA build where I get all of the mark talents that do dmg, and trueshot aura and nexus frenzy. it can actually do pretty good damage and people are surprised by it.

My main problem is people don't seem to like her in hero league even tho I usually win when I pick her. They think shes just a bad healer or if u pick her, the team wont pick a real healer and let u build differently.

Honestly. She is as much of a healer as Sonya and Rexxar are tanks.....that is to say they arent. She should be labled as a specialist so people stop thinking she is a healer.

The big problem this game has is that the terms are defined and any healer in a role is defined as that. Such as support = healer and warrior = tank. Thus heroes like Tyrande, Rexxar, Tassadar and Sonya are miss labled for their roles they should be, and it screws up games.
If what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Then I should be a god by now.

I think you only need to pick 2 Light of Elune talents (lower mana cost, increased healing) to heal your team. Going for sentinel build or trueshot+nexus frenzy build i always pick those two talents. My ulti depends on the comp.

To be honest the game could just not label heroes at all.

I guess it's more of a guideline for new players.

    @OP
seems you have already found your niche with this hero.

I mostly prefer full Marksmanship talents because they are just very intuitive. (especially, reduced CD and increased attackspeed) For healing builds as one poster mentioned, just take the 2 LoE talents and shadowstalk and the rest of the talents are optional. I've yet to perfect my owl play with her.

Yeah I usually go with Searing arrows for lulz, bfore they realise you're shrecking them the stun is just coming down....

The labelling is ok> Even though devs admits that there's some confusion here and there, the current labels to a good job of conveying a role in a team. Also add the ranged/melee factor and you have 8 roles.

i dont remember where i saw it. but the devs basically said they lable heroes in a way to make sure the quests are balanced. I'd rather have properly labled heroes. So i dont see Rexxar chosen as the tank, or Tassadar as the healer.

    Tyrande's great!!!

...on 2 support games like Hero League or god forbid Quick Matches. On solo supporting games I feel forced to take supporting talents or else I'll bring down my team with me.

I never experimented with searing arrows talent but will try it out. Since the trait is active, it amounts to a fair amount of buttons.

Me and a buddy go Morales + Tyrande for funsies sometimes, once she gets that, Trueshot and then Stim Drone... Well let's just say it's never not been funny.

Hmm none of my friends played morales; I have played morales in QM for the 500 G and always picked stim drone. But I can imagine it must be awesome. The most fiun I had was stimming hammer near the core, only to see it go down really fast.
