To the US =|= to another European country.
They need to actually check things more thoroughly and process customs and all those things that simply don't happen (as much) inside the EU.
Plus the distance is way larger and organization of transportation more complex, so it's really not feasible to do it that in the same time it takes to e.g. send something from Poland to Germany.

And as you said, xmas probably doesn't help this at all. ^^

Not just to the US, but really across any non-united country border. I sent Aryd a package a few months ago and it was never heard from again. The UK postal service apparently hasn't seen it, and the US postal service said they handed it off to the UK and there's nothing more they can do.

Next time I'm using UPS or FedEx or something with a tracking number and a single phone number I can call.

I don't know the criteria for what gets checked and processed how, but their may be a reason for that.

Still, it's not unusual for things to take really long.
I had that with a CD, with FO:E books and with a Zerg/Baneling plushy, so it's not even a "private customer vs company" thing. ^^

My latest ebay order from japane also took like 4 weeks till it arrived and it was under 50 bucks, but the one before for like 150 took like less than 2 weeks, it's really weird.

As someone who paid almost 400 bucks for 2 figures....it may not be...that...expensive...*cough*

Can't quite recall how the books went.

I hate this extra paying, but it get's really nasty if you've to go to them and they've to open it up there and then see if it is actually paid, had that with the Luna plush from Ado that he gave me, had to pay like 25 bucks for it, but he luckily believed me it's a gift and it's paid, since the price was actually attached on the box of it.
