Finally got power back after the hurricane glad my sister has a generator but sleeping on a couch while having 3 Labradors contend to see who gets to sleep next to you doesn't make sleeping very easy.

Well, finally saw the new Doctor Who. I was always optimistic, but with all of the SJW stuff happening recently I was at least somewhat concerned that they would flaunt the fact that the Doctor was a woman now, and basically rub it in everyone's faces. The previews certainly didn't help. But, the concerns were completely unfounded. Jodie absolutely nailed it, and the one line she had when someone pointed it out was "does it suit me?" like she was trying on a new scarf. TOTALLY in character as the Doctor. She is sort of a combination of David Tennant and Starlight. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of it, so far it's certainly better than Capaldi's first season was.
I actually quite like female protagonists when they are written correctly, and not written as overpowered Mary Sue's who have no flaws and can do no wrong.

The followups are half my enjoyment of the episodes.
I think they're actually right on some of the side gags. Pinkie Pie clearly visited Tartarus multiple times to plant Tirek Party supplies, [I]for Tirek Party emergencies.[/I] It's not just a piece of cake to bake a pretty Tirek-themed cake and have matching Tirek party hats ready. That takes preparation. Clearly for his "Welcome back into society since basically all of our villains eventually get redeemed" party.
Not sure what the monkey suit was for though.
