Yeah that sounds about right. Which is a shame, because when I saw Chip 'n Dale I was hoping the studio that did the new Ducktales would get a crack at a spin-off.

Unfortunately Seth Rogan (who is producing/acting in a bunch of upcoming cartoon revival movies/shows including TMNT and Darkwing Duck) doesn't want quality like that. He lives in a world of trying just above barely.

I really don't get that trailer or movie. If they are trying for a Roger Rabbit thing I'm having trouble seeing the thread that connects all of the cartoons. Genre, generation, or the companies that own them, none of them seem to connect in any meaningful way. Hell, I think Master Roshi was in one shot.

It's clear it's not Disney stuff because MLP and a couple anime characters, so then it's really just pop culture and they're hoping people see it for the references and "hey, look! It's that character!" and completely ignore the threadbare plot.

Some G5 news.

It's been super rewarding to see this vision sort of coming to life on something like My Little Pony. where there's been a full brand re-invention and a strategic plan which has been crafted by the eOne content teams. Starting with the successful launch of the My Little Pony: A New Generation movie that started on Netflix in September this year which has been super successful. and now we're accelerating that brand plan that we created in 2022 with the launch of not one, but two series. One which is completely beautiful CGI, completely exclusive to Netflix. And that will look exactly like the movie. And then we have sort of a 2D supporting series which is produced for both Youtube AND Netflix that will also be coming out in 2022.

Seems like this is one of those "confirming the sequel before the first movie is out" kind of things, but then again G4 had EQG, so maybe both can work.

Edit: And this seems to be the animation style for the 2D one. Little surprised they just didn't go with the G4 style 'cause Hitch is looking a bit rough.

I took my cat to the vet two days ago for some dermatitis and today he just.....died. There was barely a warning and he died.

Over the last couple weeks I've been watching Bojack Horseman and finished it.

It's......good, great even, but not in a comedy sense, though I did laugh often, but not at everything.

It's focus on what people go through isn't something you normally see in most sitcoms or animated comedies. It's focus on depression, addiction, and life in general isn't normal, but honestly that's part of why you want to keep watching.

While I would have preferred it to be slightly happier (maybe 2% more) that's not the point of the show. With the way I've been over the last 1 1/2 weeks it really hit me in ways that make me look at myself and that "you're the reason your life is shit" kind of way and also that "I'm gonna think of death" kind of way.

You care about the characters, you get invested in each journey, from top to bottom to bottom of the barrel to being the actual barrel and its on fire. Sometimes though the repeated fall of some characters can be a tad boring, but I guess that's the point of the show is seeing that cycle many of us put ourselves in.

I think that's why it stuck out to me, especially as of late, and I'd definitely recommend it if you ever find yourself with Netflix and a bunch of time to go through it.

Odd they never really did anything with G4 gaming wise. Given its popularity. Like me wondering for so long why Fairy Tail never got an adventure game, given the setting is perfect for it. Until one finally came out a couple years ago.

G4 is surprising for sure, even when it came to the 3DS or something they could pump out 3 cheap games, but then again G4 had a weird thing with products. They only wanted to use G3 molds for the toys for the longest time until the Guardians of Harmony line. Hasbro really missed out on some money by not making better quality stuff earlier.

They've experimented with so many different artstyles and yet the only one I'm not a fan of is that Tell Your Tale artstyle, it just looks cheap. As always

The very opening of the show the MC whines that someone saw her.....masturbating to the moon, and then someone guessing she is half Japanese because she noticed someone was a sex worker. Sometimes I just can't even with that series.

Oh Ashly Burch. I was wondering if she was still around. She didn't reprise in Steins Gate 0. Then Aloy came to Genshin and there's no confirmation it's her (I don't play Horizon Zero Dawn so I couldn't compare anyway). But Tiny Tina's Wonderland just came out, and I'm guessing she had to reprise there.

I wish I was enthusiastic about Jojo's, but I can't help but see all of the crap in it. Even Dio I don't quite understand why so many put him in the upper echelon of anime bad guys. What gets me the most is people not acting like people.

Any time would be fine, I had thought we would've gotten one with the announcement of G5 honestly.

On that note, gave Tell Your Tale another go after not being impressed with episode 1 after hearing some people on EqD actually liking it.



Slowly winning me over. They're just little skits I'm not taking too seriously, though if they do wind up as canon for future stuff so far we've established:
-Sunny gets a new house.
-Sunny keeps the hair but not the wings or horn for day to day stuff. Presumably a "temporary friendship glow-up" kind of thing like the elements of harmony activating.
-Pegasi have no idea how to fly anymore and it is kind of adorable watching them try.

Haven't watched it yet, but I will soon.

Sunny not being an alicorn is the best, personally, and likely should only be used for the major anime friendship stuff at the end of each season. Pegasi should not have flown at the end of the movie, at least not well, and makes sense for them to learn again.

Recently watched Castlevania and Odd Taxi.

Both are worth the watch with Castlevania being a very simple spectacle, action show with memorable lines, action, and even characters. The ending is most definitely a Castlevania boss fight which sort of comes out of nowhere, but not really. The rest of the show is definitely a lot more bad things happening to characters than good ones. Watch out for the end of Season 3 when it gets VERY NSFW. While there's plenty of gore to go around, nothing too gross, that one episode is a definite do not watch in public sort of thing.

Odd Taxi is a very easy to watch 13 episode romp. The characters draw you in while two major mysteries are at play, both with twists in their own way with the first being throughout the show that's easy to guess while the other seems like it doesn't make sense, but it does if you use the first twist to see why it does. It makes you want to binge it just to see what will happen next. Quite enthralling.
