The animation, again while stunning, does seem to have less frames than the original and I question if whether that's an artistic choice or one made for budgetary reasons, perhaps both. Of course the fight scenes are well done and keep you entertained.
The story does feel rushed, it feels like a lot of what happens could have been saved for the second season and allowed to be built up rather than hitting us with two deaths, a character arc being fleshed out, three bad guys established, a good guy doing bad things for the sake of good, and the bad guy being super powered. That's not forgetting the basic premise of the story being established and the 4 subplots that are happening.
With how successful Castlevania was, and it being one of the best video game adaptations, it does feel strange that this wasn't given the time to breathe, but perhaps I'm proven wrong with season 2. It's still great, but it does feel slightly askew.
