I am kinda looking at that game cautiously. I should be glad that RTS games are being produced by a more trustworthy company then EA who killed the C&C franchise. But at the same time, RTS's were something I grew up with and the new ones just are not the same as the old ones.

Well I don't really trust Gearbox (after colonial marines and duke nukem) but atleast they are only publishing the game and not making it so hopefully it's good.

I also grew up with RTS games I lived on Red Alert and Command & Conquer and Warcraft when I grew up and still play them randomly and hated what EA did to c&c4.
I was even in the closed beta for c&c4 because I got a beta key with my Red Alert 3 collectors edition and everyone for months complained that the game wasn't a c&c game that it was horrible and they should just scrap it. Bugs that where reported in alpha/early beta made it's way to the release version and they didn't read any valid feedback at all.

No wonder half the people working on the game left the company willingly after the game launched and the studio was shut down after they made that horrible free to play game atleast they tried to make a new generals but that failed.

I remember people posting videos of themselves running around in ski masks in the forest burning copies of c&c4 and demanding a apology from the devs and they never got one.

ARK is great in the way that there's enough PvE to entertain you, and most servers have their own communities. If you join an RP server and actually play on it you'll make new friends, that's just how ARK works. I really do not like RUST and RoK and LiF and all the others because it lacked PvE, but that's exactly what ARK has. I mean sometimes just taming a dino can take hours, and if it's hit while it's being tamed it loses a lot of stats and shit. I've had encounters where I am taming a dino and I meet someone else and we just pull out a campfire and sit and talk for the remaining time. I highly recommend, if you're going to get it, to join an RP server.

I might get it one day when the price is low enough.
The only reason I really wanted Rust is because of Vinesauce and his old Rust videos with the donger groups and stuff.

Mine pretty much have to do with impenetrable force field of can never do anything right and I will fail all the time. It is ingrained in my head too much and there is no coming back from that or changing for the better. Not much hope left for me.

I know how you feel. Except of course when it comes to Magic and TF2 in that I'm a god and you should all bow to me and accept me as your true ruler.

I need to shower, then I need to read Chapter 1 in my systems analysis book. Then I need to read "A Worn Path" and "The Story of an Hour" and take a test on them. Then I need to get started on a "critical analysis" of The Most Dangerous Game. The shower will cure the cold.

We kinda burned out on that mod because its just so.. in depth. Crafting takes a long time and mods are really complicated. In the end once you put your time in effort to make these awesome things everything is so automated in the end, game is basically played for you if you set it up right. I dont think that's very fun.

Yes it's on Gar's server I still log in almost daily to do some ore handling and stuff because I cba to fully automate it I also want to continue to build the town but right now I just don't feel like playing anything so I just sit online and go and browse the web instead.

Well the two stories are short stories, and they're short for short stories. Chapter 1 is supposedly the shortest chapter, so meh.

But I think I find more enjoyment by mining, or physically doing the task then I do building. It leads to a cave, or a mineshaft that leads to a little adventure that leads to the possibility of a treasure or something. I think that is more fun then collecting ore from a chest that a automated machine farms for you and then spend a hour crafting a super advanced machine with them all while never leaving your house. It gets kinda.. dull. I think inventory management and crafting are the dullest part of minecraft which is what those mods turn it into.

The other mod Thor and me were playing.. what was it called. Yoggscast thing. It dotted the map with premade fortresses and dungeons and so on that were filled with unique mobs and challenge and it ended with treasure. Sure it also had the ability to build spaceships and automated machinery, but the chance of unique treasure from those dungeons was more then enough to get away from it from time to time.

The fortresses I saw in the mod were not really cut aways. They blended into the terrain fair enough. That or they were too far away from each other to really be that much of a intrusion. Like a giant natural arch design that had battlements around it and super elite mobs inside it. Too tough to fight with standard items. So then your machines have a purpose. Use them to help you make better armor, health bonuses and so on to take on the superior mobs.

Then you get some random skyscraper that looked like shit. That is a lazy fortress.

In this modpack the premade stuff works quite well here is a screenshot of a world generated premade structure on Gar's server:



I think it looks quite decent I added the torches to it because I wanted a area without spawning ages ago when I used it as a mining base.
