Work has gotten significantly worse lately, especially with the state the country is in. But part of that is due to medical issues I've had lately. A couple months ago I got pretty sick. Afterwards, I've had a lingering cough that doesn't go away. So I went to an urgent care to get checked out. They suggested some form of asthma, and through a couple more trips and medication, they referred me to a specialist. Some really unprofessional shenanigans on both side had me wait until yesterday to finally see em. Did a breathing test and found that I'm only using (or rather, only able to use) 30% of my lung capacity. That and the coughing leads to COPD, a chronic lung disorder where something something bad stuff. I have no history of smoking (a main cause), I'm not old (well, I think I'm old), and so the only logical cause is a history of second-hand smoke. So, lesson for everyone, don't be near that shit your whole life. I have no insurance, I don't qualify for medicaid for some damn reason. So I've got a very expensive medication inhaler that I can only hope I won't need for a significant amount of time. I don't feel any different, but there are definitely some warning signs. I can't speak in very long sentences without having to pause and breathe. I've been getting tired more quickly at work. So yeah, now I'm worried about that on top of everything else. Dunno how I'm gonna be able to continue to deal at work too.

I try to occupy my time and my mind with Genshin Impact, Pokemon, anime, some vtubers. Some hits and misses on anime lately, but Nana was great. Edens Zero season 1 finished up, and I liked it too (and yes I love Fairy Tail, maybe I just enjoy Mashima's writing). The Aria series slowly got better and better. That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime season 2 finished, good stuff (even wearing a shirt of it right now). The Love Live series continues to impress (but Sunshine is still the best). My Anime List only goes a month back so that's all I got. Trying to get my work friend into anime since her daughter is really into it. Waiting for Owl House season 2 part 2. Oh I did think of ponies recently, because I started listening to my Spotify playlist again for the first time in years. Forgot how good The Magic Inside was, and that was from a one-off character. Still wish Equestria Girls continued, since it felt very magic high school.

Well that is certainly a tad worrying. On the insurance front if your state expanded it then it's like you can get cheaper insurance with the ACA. When I worked at that furniture store for a bit I had to use it to get cheaper stuff 'cause that place wanted to charge me like $300 a month for their insurance and I wasn't having any of that crap. I don't know Walmart's insurance package (if you still work there), but something tells me it isn't great.

I don't mean to internet diagnose, but having some lung issues in the past myself due to pneumonia it's a small possibility you may have gotten that in some capacity yourself.

With work I say always be looking for other work if you can. A resume that you lie on a bit could easily get you out of that place. Finding a hospital job would give you state insurance and that is usually top notch, at least it was for me when I worked at the college. Hell, I'll give you my resume, just replace the important info and you might get something else when looking on indeed or other job sites.

That's good you are enjoying that stuff. Eden's Zero I couldn't do because it's so obvious he copied character designs for so many of those characters and I can't get over that. His writing definitely has "babe's first anime" written all over it, his writing isn't exactly deep.

I just finished Aggretsuko just before season four of it pops up next week. Up next I might just do Centaurworld season two.

On that note, the show creators released something interesting on Twitter.

Looks like a repost of someone else's, but I'm sure they'll do more stuff later. I doubt a 3rd season will happen, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Why doesn’t Hasbro get more criticism for making MLP: FiM less accessible? Between not releasing Seasons 8-9 on physical media, putting Season 9 on Hulu instead of Netflix, never releasing the Friendship is Forever clipshow episodes outside of Australia, not making an MLP: FiM: The Complete Series DVD/Blu-Ray, taking down sites that allow people to watch the show, and letting the show leave Netflix, the streaming service with BY FAR the most subscribers, why aren’t more people calling out Hasbro on their decisions?

I assume for many it could be season 9 wasn't all that popular and are not looking forward to seeing it again, though they might want to collect it. Wouldn't surprise me they will do the full collection down the road.

Well hiring an editor was not a great choice. That guy barely did a damn thing and I won't be getting my $750 back. What's worse is he was like "isn't it better now" and I had to sit there and go "....sure."

    "...that'll be $750."

On another note, Hilda and The Mountain King dropped on Netflix. I think this was the series finale and I am distraught. Everything I could've hoped for, except more seasons. Ain't that just the way. (edit: Maybe not? Seeing S3 rumors, but if so that would be the final season.)

Believe me I wish he did things right and I didn't notice it, at least then it'd be right and I'd be ignorant and blind, but nope. He didn't even fix things he noticed were wrong. As an example I was spelling the word wispy as whispy, but he never changed any of them to be correct.

I decided to cut my book in two. This way it will be easier to trim down. Better to go from 221,000 to 150,000 than start at 407,000. At least the second half is like 185,000 and that should be real easy to cut down. Plus, I hear publishers like when you have two books ready.

I think I've heard of Hilda, but haven't watched it.

Yep, definitely getting a job so I can move out of here, so very tired of the two drug addicts here and the owner who doesn't give a fuck about it.

Well after a bunch of work I'm still short of the words I need to remove for my book. Still need to remove 40,000 to get it submitted to many publishers/agents.

I guess I'll try to the few still here. If you're interested in reading the first half of my fantasy book and willing to give critique that would help extremely.

Currently it's 190,000 words and I'm trying to get it down to below 150,000 and you can absolutely tell me how much you hate or love and if you'd change anything. It's getting likely I have to rewrite it to fit it under that.

Weird that you have to reduce the size of it. Kind of kills the idea you telling your story.

For first time books/writers publishers don't like taking that chance on larger works, as it means spending more money to print them, it's understandable from a business stance. If the writer turns out to be popular they give more leeway. Harry Potter as an example started at 220 pages and tripled to just over 600 because they knew it would sell. Certain outliers like Lord of the Rings (~1170) don't happen all too often.

A lot of what I removed was superfluous and redundant words/sentences. I've been slowly reducing it over time and recently used an editing program to help, out of the 71k I needed to remove I got 28.5k. Problem is now to get down to the word count I need would mean removing plot beats.

It's possible I need to just rewrite it. I've been thinking of one version that I kind of wanted to do to begin with, but as I wrote other things happened. It would just be nice to have like 20 more sets of eyes on it to give me actual critique. I've been told that it's good and entertaining, even from someone that doesn't like fantasy, but that only helps me know the ideas are sound rather than story flow.

What few people are still here, if you're interested in reading part of it, the 1st half, or all of it then that would be great.

I don't get that trailer at all. There's no plot to even discuss and this is looking more like Space Jam 2 than anything else.

That "I got the 3D surgery" joke doesn't work when the other Rescue Rangers are also in 3D (though it is late PS2 cel shading). Maybe if the joke was in a movie where different animation styles/fidelity was some sort of commentary it could be funny, but in this it's just like "I get it, it's kinda clever, but it's not funny."

It looks like they're trying for a Roger Rabbit, but looks like they came up with another Space Jam 2.

Speaking of graphic fidelity, why do the MLP ponies look like they were made by an indie studio for a game that Hasbro shut down?

Also, I think Applejack is in the back just behind Rainbow Dash's wing and Twilight's tail. Who that white haired one is and why it looks worse than the others I have no idea. I don't want to assume G5 character, but maybe?

Yeah that sounds about right. Which is a shame, because when I saw Chip 'n Dale I was hoping the studio that did the new Ducktales would get a crack at a spin-off.
