Because modern republican policies are wacko nutjob nonsense. If we're talking republicans from like 20 years ago I'd disagree. Today you have a bunch of people running for president on the right who want to start world war 3, get rid of planned parenthood because the small amount of their budget spent on abortions offends god, stop an immigration problem that doesn't exist (it's been getting better, not worse), and ignoring climate science because there's snow and that means global warming is a myth started by satan and liberals. That sounds extreme, but what's more extreme is the fact that these are legitimately things that republicans running for president honestly believe. This is the kind of stuff that right-wing senators and other politicians bring up - and somehow manage to maintain a voting base.

I'm not saying it's right to censor one view over another - that's objectively wrong. I'm saying that the right's views are wacko nutjob nonsense and deserve to be treated as such. As someone else said above this forum is one of the most conservative friendly I've seen. Plenty of conservative views get shared here on a daily basis without getting banned, it just seems a lot of people have a victim complex.

All of Obama's policies and changes were centrist policies. Except the whole ordeal with Guantanamo Bay and disabling due process for terrorist investigations and 'national security', that's actually very right wing.....

Should make it quite clear what kind of people the 'republicans' are when they get so upset over such harmless things that have already been the norm in the rest of the modern world. (Gay rights, healthcare, laws to protect the environment, etc.)

1. Signed economic stimulus legislation in response to the Great Recession of 2008
2. Signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act in 2010, strengthening financial regulations
3. Pushed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare)
4. Signed the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010 and became the first sitting U.S. president to publicly support same-sex marriage
5. Repealed a Bush-era policy preventing federal tax dollars from being used to fund research on new lines of embryonic stem cells
6. Signed the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 ending the role of private banks in lending out federally insured student loans

Can't categorize all that stuff, but point 3, 4, and 5 look quite left wing to me.

As for Guantanamo... no that's not right-wing, that's more like the typical socialist stuff for us living in the old continent, we had STASI around here.
