Anderson Cooper and CNN vs presidential hopefuls

So... Do you think the questions reflect the level of political interest and knowledge of the people watching the debates/town halls? Do you think it has more to do with rich CNN CEOs and board members being so deep in the pocket of politicians who will keep handing them free money?

Is Anderson Cooper just a complete joke as a moderator?

Remember this from Mitt Romney vs Obama?

Candy Crowley was never seen since. She just disappeared. CNN told her to go.

Town halls and debates are two different beast. Saying he treats Republicans better than Democrats when the former is at a town hall and the latter a debate is a disingenuous comparison.

So... In a debate, you ask the tough questions. In a town hall, you ask what the candidate's favorite color is? Although, this, obviously, wasn't the case in the MSNBC town hall with the Democrats.

It has nothing to do with the fact that Anderson Cooper knows that when Candy Crowley challenged a Republican, she got immediately fired from CNN, and that Cooper is afraid for his own job?

Whatever questions they ask, the next day all of the Republicans will cry foul and shout "liberal media" from the rooftops, so what does it matter what they ask?

It was pretty fucking sad. Besides the endless softball questions, the lauding of the amazing quality of the candidates, the nonexistent followup questions all that town hall was was an add for the candidates to show the people how nice they actually are despite the abhorrent shit they say.

I know it wasn't a debate but a moderator is supposed to scrutinize the views of the candidate, ask them about policy and the feasibility of their ideas, not whether they sing to their wife and what their favorite colour is.

Here's what the MSNBC town hall with the Democrats looked like:

I know it's not CNN, and it's not Anderson Cooper, but it is a town hall, and I don't see any "oh how much do you love your wife", "oh Bernie, you're so amazing, what's your favorite drink" -questions there.

So... Town halls aren't always softballs? Only when it's Anderson Cooper asking the questions of the Republicans?

Oh wow, those were very lame.

I forgot entirely about the Candy fiasco, never realized she "left" because of that.
