When is the last time anyone who mattered actually gave a shit that 1% of the population wrote in Mickey Mouse as opposed to just not voting?

It would mater a lot more than not voting, as generating even a single percentage of popular vote would be a story on disenfranchised voters. A vote for Mickey, shows disenfranchised voters, while not voting just shows not voting.

You can do that as a write in. lol! Be surprised at the types of write-ins are put down I bet. But this is the type of behavior which can cause a undesirable to get elected if enough do that or fail to vote at all.

What differance does any vote have then? Last I checked, chances are your single vote means nothing, even if you vote for the two parties. The chances are parallel to the number of people who actually do it. What makes republicans and democrats mater, is not the fact that people vote for the alternative or vote in protest, but because they don't.

Want Ron Paul or Elizabeth Warren to run for office? Write them in, as the groundswell would encourage them to run, far more than voting for either Trump or Clinton.
