The terms "SJW/Feminazi " should be liable for spam.

They add nothing constructive to threads at all and just are another way to call someone you don't agree with/dislike, a troll.
"You know you that bitch when you cause all this conversation."

we should add liberal/conservative/republican/democrat/authoritarian/fascist to the list as well

They're used by people who don't know how to have a discussion or a proper argument on topics relating to SJW/"Feminism" It's like when you have a hot topic and you choose to base your argument on something that is flawed, but is very difficult to argue against, just not because it's right. They're discussions filled with hate, argued by people who have no understanding of the things they're talking about.

I agree. There are threads which discuss or contribute nothing and are just 50 pages of people calling eachother feminists or SJWs back and forth in a big and steaming pile of circlejerks, these forums should be moderated far too heavily if* the owners actually want people talking to eachother and having meaningful discussions.

*Of course we know the owners just want the clicks so who cares.

Oh look, countering arguments with censorship, that always works

Arguing that someone who has a different opinion than you has no understanding and their reasoning is flawed is very patronizing.

lol what. they're not the most positive terms but it's not like people don't use them semi-constructively.

if there's a post simply saying "you're a sjw" then sure, that already is against the rules because it's basically a spam post adding nothing constructive to the discussion.

The internet tosses a lot of social niceities to the wind, and toxicity will always be high. Banning one phrase that isn't outright racist will only have another phrase pop up in its place.

In addition, the phrase "Social Justice Warrior" does have a pretty specific definition, so it can't really be used as a random troll phrase in any intelligent conversation: It represents individuals who are vehemently attempting to defend a certain structure of belief, mostly centered around western morality and (at the very least) perceived cultural/gender differences that should, according to them, be corrected.

Now, you may tell me that people are not using the phrase in intelligent conversation, at which point I'd welcome you to the internet, as well as advise you to keep your wandering cursor out of threads that are too toxic for you to handle.

I, personally, think bashing people for wanting to defend others is silly, and that all but the most over-zealous members of the argument on both sides can be talked to if you don't counter-attack but argue with (gasp) logic, patience and sympathy.

In short: It's by no means any worse than most of the other drivel labels people toss around out there. Thank your stars this isn't a completely unmoderated forum like the chans, and accept that people will be utter idiots from now till the sun explodes. Find those who are worthwhile of a conversation and keep to them if you can't handle the fire.

    So... They have a place?

Well, sure, censor it and people will find something else to define you lot. This is about as stupid as Instagram blocking the eggplant hashtag.

They don't see all that offensive in the world of the internet. People vomit the labels onto just about anything they could be remotely applied to expecting it to be some final dismissive word on the topic, but welcome to the internet. That's how it works here. The idea that advocating for change on some social issue, or in many cases of these term's usage, just asking "is there a problem here?" has somehow became a terrible crime is frankly, nothing new.

Ban these and you'd be surprised at the creativity of the community. Most likely in ways that you wouldn't like.

The reason these became so popular is because people can't go around calling each other cunts.

The response of language to banned words is to adapt. To find new ways to express the same concepts. Banning the concepts throws the baby out with the bathwater and you find yourself unable to talk about even the positive things.

We're not going to create an lexicon of forbidden buzzwords here. Just like other similar terms, everything will be judged on a case by case based on its context in the thread. If you feel someone's post is detrimental to discussion, is spammy, trolling or flaming, feel free to report it for review.
