Personally, when I first say the trailer for this game. I thought it looked dumb. I could be wrong, and it could be fun. But I didn't see any reason to play it. Just looked like a generic TF rip off, with goofy characters.

There are people who do, and will like Overwatch not despite, but because of it's characters.

As for the TF crowd... Well, much like with Heroes and the LoL crowd, the TF crowd can stay in TF, like the LoL crowd should stay in LoL.

^This pretty much. I'm loving the different characters they have so far, and I've been having a blast on the beta and I've put a huge number of hours in TF. If someone wants to offhandedly dismiss it as a TF clone then they are sadly mistaken and it's their loss.

As you might already know (if you don't http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-vic...er-sexualized/), the developer team of overwatch decided to remove a pose from the game. Now how is this a big deal you ask? Well, as usual anti-sjw behaviour the crowd got triggered by it and has decided to abandon any rational thought in order to; once again, hate on SJWs for something they are unrelated to. Now before some of you ask, its stupid that Blizzard caters to this one person just because he felt offended, let me clarify that Jeff Kaplan has stated that he was planning to change it later on, the pose was a placeholder. So it would be ok right? The developer under his own will (without being pressured) decided to change something they didn't like. But no it seems that creative freedom is only regarded as such only if you follow the strict rules set by anti-sjws and if you refuse they will do everything it takes to force you into agreeing. Even creating stupid hashtags like #buttgate.

Furthermore you don't actually seem to know what you're talking about as a lot of people are annoyed because this is a pattern of behavior for Blizzard. Some dumbass, whether it was the children butthurt over "Hush, Tyrande" in Cataclysm's 5 man dungeon "Well of Eternity" (Which made sense in the context of the scene), the morons crying about Ji Firepaw's dialogue in MoP's beta, Perculia throwing a tantrum over "Tyrande's Silence" and the Autographed Portrait of Jaina Proudmoore, or now this, throws a fit and they change it.

Blizzard repeatedly has kowtowed to children taking offense at nonoffensive things and demanding it change because it upsets them. And you can sit there and pretend they were planning to change them all along, but (ESPECIALLY in this case), the reasoning for these changes are never "We wanted to" and are "So sorry you were offended" until the backlash starts and then they backtrack with some "Oh we wanted to do it all along!" argument.

It's so blatantly clear that it's damage control that people who have no dog in these fights can see it from a mile away.

As I said, it's about the principle Anyway, let's say you're are all correct; this isn't manufactured controversy just to generate some headlines for their "about to release" game; and it is in fact Jeff Kaplan bowing to the desires of a single complaint; what people then say is "Where will it end??"

Who cares? Like you say, there are companies out there that won't bend over for every bitch; and if they make a better game, then go play it happy days

To me what this mostly sounds like (as with 99% feedback/change decisions) is - discounting those people who are missing the point entirely and going on some anti social justice feminazi rant; (which is cute but it kinda makes them look like they are a little blinkered by their rage); people complaining that someone elses feedback was listened to and theirs wasn't. I think anyone who's actually interested in playing Overwatch as a game (which is probably only about 5% of the people even commenting on it nyahaa) couldn't give a toss one way or the other as there are MUCH more galring issues with the game as it is currently than any number of superficial artistic license issues.

I agree, but I'm mindful of the possible comparison.

Social media has just encouraged some people (SJWs, feminists, Sarkessians, etc) to make a hobby of waking up in the morning and being offended by something in the name of a grand "cause" like social justice, and then gathering in a mob to bully some other group with shaming and outrage

I'm all for debate and discussion (which is what forums are for) but I find the trend towards oppression olympics to be the opposite of that, because it's about stifling debate and turning every discussion into a dissection of who "has more privilege" so we know whose opinions can be discounted regardless of merit
