Looking at those PC setup prices, it seems that gaming laptops are really overpriced. You can get a lot in a PC for the same price. Granted that laptops have mobility but most of the time you travel, you are not going to have time or even good internet for gaming.

You're confusing spite with a lack of sympathy for players doing something illegal. Not spite, just don't care and unlike you, we appear to be able to judge the situation dispassionately - its piracy/illegal any way you cut it

@PC setups: save $'s, skip the dvd players. And why no high end GFX cards like the Fury (x) and 980 TI? Not even de 980 and the R390x.
That's of severe diminishing returns in WoW. The game engine is still horrifically CPU bottlenecked. Where the CPU is currently far more important that a high end GPU.

I have two 980Tis and I get the same performance as I did on a normal 980, and even an AMD FirePro D700.
Not saying a good GPU isn't important now, but with WoW being so CPU dependant it's not as important as it would be with other games.

Yea @PCSetups, I wouldn't buy an optical drive either

Can't they at least attempt to make leveling less of a dull joke than it has turned into instead of introducing new ways to pay to skip it?

Players don't want to level anymore, partially because most that still play have done it already, but also because it's so mindnumbingly easy that you just feel like it's a race to the end.

Agreed it was illegal and i believe the only reason it was so popular was the fact it's free. even if Blizzard were to make Vanilla servers the common consensus is "all people on Nos would go to official Blizzard servers" which i believe to be unlikely as it would not be free especially since Blizzard would have to invest in the hardware and time to host it and have been quoted several times as saying they no longer have the files as they existed in Vanilla so the full Vanilla experience as we knew it then would not be possible.

Anyone else see a fish falling out of a three toed animal's behind? I had to focus on it twice...the screen shot had me somewhat confused as to what I was looking at---a tauren...meditating?
I love the mage animation, I'm not sure if the shaman is quite flashy enough for my tastes yet.

Oh god, trial max level characters, thats a terrible idea.

I really, really hope tight restriction are put in place. Can you imagine it? "I want to try out this recommended dps spec in lfr"

or the couple that will slip through the net and get into normals

That is the issue, leveling from 1 to 100 should not take 1 week, it should take more time...

Regarding the CPU setups of the month: Your money would be better spent on the 6700k simply for the clock boost, unless the 6600k can OC as high as the 6700k can. Blizzard's games are all CPU bound for the most part, with only Overwatch requiring a matching mid-high to high tier GPU for optimal performance. Also, Legion's system requirements jump dramatically, because base and max farclip have been tripled, in addition to the newer high resolution textures being used. If you want the best performance out of WoW, you'll want that 6700k hands down unless you already have a 4790k OC'd to 4.6 GHz or better.

Never underestimate just how important it is to spec for overkill with Blizzard's engines.

    Well...

Never ever going afk on my resto shaman once legion hits.

Oh noes! It's not available on Alpha... What will the .05% of the WoW population that gets to play with the new content whenever they'd like do?!!! Don't care, still raiding Hellfire... Alpha players can go do, something rude.

The AFK meditation as a shaman is a great IDEA, give us more immersion and a sence of Contemplation, shaman is all about self awerness and Balance with the Elements.

    Great IDEA BLIZZ!

about the 100 triel thing, its new and smart, so people can try out there different calsses at close max level, hope they make it so that you can choose what ever spec. since the Spec defines you as a player.

Seriously, stop recommending AMD FX CPUs on a WoW centric website. An I3 would make much more sense instead, especially paired with fast RAM. It crushes even the "fastest" FX in terms of singlethread performance, which is what is needed most for games like WoW (and most others that don't make extensive use of 4+ cores).

I just want to say that these builds are pretty bad, and that you can get something much better for the same price (if not less)
as an example, I'll go through all the faults of the Puppy build

Case: No problems here apart from no usb 3.0 ports, though I suggest the fractal design core 1100 (smoother look, has usb 3.0 ports, same price)

Power Supply: Admittedly not a bad choice, but it is non modular - horrible for cable management and if you care about aesthetics at all you wouldn't want the ketchup and mustard colored cables that come with this unit

CPU: The biggest fault in this entire build, FX processors are very outdated and use a dead socket, have high power usage and get very hot, and you will have no upgrade route - You might see 3.5 ghz and 6 cores and go "whoa!" but any new i3 will outperform it by quite a bit because of ipc and per-core performance (the i3 being a dual core doesn't matter - it's hyperthreaded and will run everything like a quad core would)

Heatsink: No complaints here, good value

Motherboard: Good quality motherboard (though using dead socket) But, You definitely do not need a motherboard that costs the same as your CPU, I understand it is for overclocking but at this pricerange you shouldn't be thinking about that

Memory: Nothing to say here, ram is ram and 8gb is enough for everything

Graphics card: Not a bad card, but for the same price you can grab a GTX 950 which performs better (not by a noticeable amount, but more is better)

Hard drive: while WD Black drives perform better than other 7200rpm harddrives, the extra $30 is not worth it if you are on a budget this low, a better choice would be a WD Blue or a Seagate Barracuda to save money and spend the extra $30 on another part

DVD: Nothing wrong with it but I don't know why you would want an optical drive, windows can be installed off of a usb stick

I highly recommend pcpartpicker (website) for anything to do with building a pc/pc components.

    my personal suggestion for Puppy:

    Case: Corsair carbide 88r - $50

    Power supply: Seasonic M12II EVO 620w - $70

    CPU: Intel core i3 6100 - $112

Heatsink: none (the i3 comes with one) - $0

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-A - $54

Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB - $39

    Graphics card: PowerColor Radeon R9 380 4GB PCS+ - $209

    Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM - $44

DVD: None (install windows from a usb stick)

    Total: $578

Basically, much better performance for the same price

(I'm actually trying to help people here, not mock/etc)

I would stop recommending the Corsair memory with the Z170-a boards. There is hundreds of threads about this. This memory will not run at 3000 or 3200 on most Z170-a boards. Only 2800. If you want a working set of memory try this brand.

You can read this thread as proof. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthre...149795&page=20

Other than that, the more expensive setup is good. I normally get my stuff cheaper through a retail discount but these came up at roughly the same price.
