Nah, this girl (literally the first one I picked off "pretty CW actress red gold curls" google search) was in Arrow as his daughter (seasons I didn't get to, but she is still quite attractive)

For those saying that picture was too much makeup, do a google search of her on your own.

^ I could see that for Elayne no problem.

^ Or if you wanted her blonder

However, the point is that even the CW, that BASTION OF TV EXCELLENCE ...... can manage to find attractive people to play in shows watched by a tiny fraction of people. How is it that Amazon finds people that are 5s and 6s at best to play characters that are supposed to be amazingly attractive.

And, understand, I am by no means saying they should have cast THAT actress. She is just an example of someone who is easily in their price range (the CW is bankrupt and could afford her) and blows everyone out of the water in their entire show. I mean I assume they WANT people to watch it, and shocker, people like seeing attractive people on the screen, especially when they character is described as stunningly attractive.

I always saw Morgase as Christina Hendricks (once I knew who she was)..... not that she'd likely be in reach for a show like this....

CW pretty much survives on hot people showing skin.

Also I think people hold beauty to high standards these days. I think the actor playing Elayne is very beautiful, like WTF.
I guess it depends on your standards..... I went to the gym this morning. It wasn't crowded. I saw at least 3 girls prettier than anyone on WoT just there working out...... and I don't live in a place that is chock full of gorgeous people.

I could understand if they were amazing actors who really nailed their parts.

    If

Can we hire some of those hot people to play the RJ described hot people in Wheel of Time? I can't imagine they'd be that expensive. They don't even have to show that much skin, just look like anyone would actually notice them.

Hating out groups can absolutely be part of a culture. It doesn't necessarily spark a culture, but it can absolutely be part of a culture's mores and values.

    And an Aiel with dreadlocks?

based on the fingernails, I would assume they are supposed to be Seanchan. Not exactly sure why the hell they are going with nearly foot and half long nails though. I always pictured them as just a few inches. That length is just stupid. (Nails also appear to be on the wrong fingers too, lol).

Also, every time I see a picture of them, I just can't help but think about how absolutely and completely they butchered the Ogier for the TV adaptation. Like, seriously, just look at that shit......... straight fucking awful.

It's kind of bizarre - if there was one thing the books weren't lacking on, it was overly elaborate descriptions of everything. To have things nowhere near close to the way the bok described them takes real effort.

    - - - Updated - - -

Hang on, that was Ishmael and Loial walking together with the Seanchan. There is nothing remotely like that in the books.

And even though they are going to cram the events of 2 books into 8 episodes, Rafe has said they are going to take time to explore more of the relationship between Allannah and her warders. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact rafe's boyfriend plays one of the warders and he wants to give him more screen time could it.

It looks like they made a D-list version of Groot. Loial is supposed to be like a foot taller than Rand, as well. At best he looks like he's no more than 6'2.

Loial is supposed to be so much "larger" than a normal person that it was specifically described during their escape from the Two Rivers that when seen from a distance in the dark, Loial on the big draft horse that was the only thing that could carry him made the group (which included Lan) look like an Adult escorting a bunch of children due to the size variance.

Loial fled the two rivers with Lan? Didn't Loial first go to the Two Rivers with Perrin to investigate White Cloaks and later found Trollocs. Regardless Loial is ten feet tall in the books and the show decided to make him a little bit shorter. Likely for ease of filming as they would need perspective tricks, stilts, or something.

Another article with the same photos but a bit more info.

I hope this is more that the writer doesn't know what they are on about, but I remain sceptical. Firstly they refer to previous incarnations of the Dragon (plural) going mad. And also Moirane can no longer channel. So no heroics against Lanfear. Is Lanfear even going to appear? This season is where she should.

Did you watch Season 1? Because from your reaction it sounds like you did not.

Just accept the fact that this show bears no resembelence to the books outside of names they stole from a better story.

And seriously? LANFEAR? A woman so beautiful that men act stupid and women all instant envy her? LOL, they will never cast someone like that. If they even make a Lanfear in this show, she'll be a 5 at best.

I thought on my way home this morning, Hollywood use to cast actresses for beauty, and if they could act too, all the better. Now they obviously don't cast for beauty..... but the acting has gotten worse..... so I'm trying to figure out what they are casting for.

Then stop looking at it? It is crazy how many in this thread don't like the show but keep on coming back to view or comment on it.

    1) I love the franchise, I been reading the books since 1999
    2) this is a forum, discission shouldn't only be circle jerking praise.
    3) I never said I hated the show. Sure I gave it a 4/10 overall but I highlighted there are some good things I do enjoy. just the bad outweigh the good sadly.
    4) Learn to accept that a lot of people are disappointed by the show, and that's okay, just as its okay that you enjoy said show. No one is wrong

It shouldn't be one of hate either and yet that is the dominate type of discussion in this thread. Every time something new gets posted it just rashes things. If the bad outweigh the good than just move on. Why continue to watch something you don't like? Liking the books since 1999 is irrelevant to anything here.
