Thousands at 'March for Europe' Brexit protest

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36692990

Thousands of people have marched through London to protest against the referendum decision to leave the EU.

Demonstrators at the "March for Europe" rally, organised on social media, held placards saying "Bremain" and "We Love EU".

In the referendum on 23 June the UK voted to leave the EU, with 51.9% in favour of leaving and 48.1% supporting Remain.

Critics said that those protesting who lost the vote were "having a tantrum".

Demonstrators gathered around Park Lane before setting off for Parliament Square. A rally also took place in York.

An organiser of the London march, Keiran MacDermott, said protesters hoped to stop the government from triggering Article 50, which begins the formal process of the UK's withdrawal from the EU.

Fellow organiser Mark Thomas, an activist, said he felt "anger, frustration" and a "need to do something".
Well I suppose it gets them outside

And you can criticize them for protesting. Freedom of speech has endless layers.

As long as they are expressing their personal opinion and are not protesting the legitimacy of democratic results then it is fine. Trying to overrule democracy would be authoritarian.

It's too bad the initial vote didn't get them outside. They played themselves with the abysmal young voter turnout.

My point is to the people who just tell them to fall in line and get over it if thats the attitude they will have.

Their showing would mean more if they voted instead of protesting later.

All those teens who were too busy playing PS4 to vote.

Apparently 72% of the UK voted, so it's quite likely that they voted.

I think the idea is that people find humor in the protestors only being for democracy when it benefits them. No doubt, both sides do it, it's just that right now, these protesters are the ones in the spotlight.

People are only for democracy when it benefits them. Simple as that.

My argument is that young people fucking fail at democracy because they are too lazy to show up at a polling station. If they had showed up in any respectable number brexit was doomed to fail.

They didn't show up. They abstained.

    Brexit wins.

    The end.

Make as much noise as you want.

No, I voted against Obama but I would rather respect the democratic results than diminish democracy.

Once again, your argument is basically saying everyone protesting didnt vote.

Fairly ironic that the demographic of this protest looks very much like the demographic that turned up to vote the least.

    I consider that BS

    Here is why

You are now saying nothing should be changed or reversed over time. You must respect results.

Well we don't really know either way, I suspect a % didn't vote. Pointless debating it
