I think Deathcries has provided the Trumpkin spin defending his assassination comments. Yes, the remarks plainly were a threat of violence. The remarks said that if the second amendment is threatened as Trump said HRC was threatening it, then the second amendment guys would do something about it (civil war). Attempts to use facts, history, or logic will be responded to with swearing and lies and red herrings.

The 2nd amendment wasn't about duck hunting or sport. It's to keep a tyrannical government in check.
