hello my fellow demon hunters, I think I have a problem. As a talent I picked "demon blades" but there is something wrong, there come moments when all I have is on CD , meaning my "felblade" and "chaos strike", and nothing to generate fury with and in these moments I think I lose DPS, any advice on what to do ?

    thanks !

    Looking for some DH help

Hey all. I just came back to the game a little over 3 weeks ago from taking a 2 year break and decided to play a DH. I am currently 942 Ilvl, I have 4 set t21 w/ pantheon trinket and these legs, Raddon's, Delusions, Kil'Jaeden's Burning Wish, Isignia of the Grand Army and the Sentinel's Refuge.

I've tried using Ask MrRobot, Raidbots and SimC to try and figure out which gear combo and the rotations to mach up. I cant seem to get a hang for the numbers because MrRobot says I should be doing around 1.45 mil dps on H Garothi, Raidbots has me between 1.55-1.62 depending on which leg setup I run and no matter what gear combo in SimC I try it has me between 950k-1.05 mil dps.

I'm actually pulling between 1.15-1.2 mil on H Garothi from looking at the logs. When I look at Warcraft Logs I see other DH's with my ilvl pulling 1.8-2.0 mil. I would really love to figure out what im doing wrong.

My DH is Sämäel on Mal'ganis if anyone wants to take a look and offer some adivce. The alt code is 132. Thanks

You're Blade Dancing on single target with Chaos Cleave. . .? This is a large DPS loss - BD costs more fury on average than CS, doesn't proc DA, etc. and is generally a total waste of fury until 8+ targets.

There is a lot of resource overflow as well - 526 (!) wasted fury from Demon's Bite. This is something that's completely in your control, so there really should be zero overflow on this. Similarly, only 2 casts of Arcane Torrent on a 5.5 minute fight.

Your opener is not done correctly. I'm not sure why your raid didn't opt to use bloodlust on pull, but in any event you cast your first Meta 21 seconds in. Since meta resets EB, the CDR from any souls you might have generated in the first 20 seconds of the fight is wasted. Ideally you EB and then immediately Meta or at most Meta after the first Betrayer's Fury window from your initial EB.

I won't comment on your gear as you are just coming back, but I will note that the optimal neck enchant for Chaos Cleave builds (i.e. any T21 setup) is Trained Soldier, not Claw.

How much does trained soldier beat claw roughly? I had no idea, Im not home currently to Sim it.

At least for me, claw simulates ~4-5k dps higher than trained soldier.

So as far as saying which enchant should be used, you better simulate it yourself.

On single target it certainly depends on your gear (for myself Trained Soldier sims ~2-3k higher in this case), but the main reason to use this enchant is that it has better AoE scaling than Claw does; at higher target counts the margin expands.

I was under the impression that you should use Blade Dance/ Death Sweep on CD when you have First Blood talented. Since its only has a fury cost of 15 with that and does higher dmg per cast vs a Chaos Strike. Yeah I had the wrong talent setup for that fight you linked. Also talking about our 102 tier of talents The only fight in there other than trash that is seems worth to take Chaos Cleave is High Command? By that I mean the adds on Eonar my group has ranged kill the adds while we focus the big guys, the adds on portal keeper are all spread out and running all over. There isnt really a fight in there where the adds get clumped up to make cleaving viable from what I've seen other than High Command. I do like Bloodlet but the combined dmg from Throw Glaive and the Dot avgs out less dps than a chaos strike so it seems to be a waste of a GCD to use that in leu of just CS.

If you have 4p T21 you shouldn't be using First Blood, you should be using Chaos Cleave. It isn't about them being "clumped up" with 4p T21 you use Chaos Cleave over any talent because extra damage because you're getting more Meta's and you don't want to waste fury on Blade Dancing when you should be saving it for Chaos Strike to have that 25% chance to generate a Soul(from the way you're speaking, you don't seem to know that Chaos Cleave is an Aura effect not a cleave. It does the extra damage to the target you use Chaos Strike on as well as around you, the pulse shoots out from the player not the Chaos Cleaved target). Bloodlet is garbage, never use it.

I'm more worried about their 2 VDH tanks not breaking 500k DPS. I hover at around 900k+ at 954 ilvl.

It's their talents, one isn't even using Soul Bomb and the other is using Soul Barrier.

Ok, thanks yeah I wasn't aware of how it worked. I was thinking that it was a small area cleave from CS itself.

I am working on the opener and overall rotation from what I've seen in the rotation w t21 thread. Which would be the best Leg setup of the ones I have atm. I really hope to get the Angre of the Half Giants soon.... And what is a resonable amount of dps that I should be doing on that fight? I am clocking in at 1.1-1.2 with my craptastic rotation and all I don't think I can see the 1.6m even with a better rotation. The dmg just feels a little weak. Unless I'm just not getting the RNG of crits and timing of the souls.

It really depends. Raddon's is BiS for T21, until you get Anger I'd probably use Delusions however Insignia could be decent too depending on what your NLC has rng'd you. Huge thing is you have WAY too much Vers and no where near enough Haste. You also need more Crit. In my current T21 set up I run with 60% Crit, 19.3% Haste. You want to aim for 20% Haste because it helps gets a certain amount of GCDs during Meta's with Eye Beam Haste. Eventually as you start working on BiS gear you want Tier shoulders and you want to get the 2p from Arcway/CoS(Gloves/Feet).

Awesome, thanks for the info. I've been looking at the BIS list from icy viens. And until I get most of that I've just been using whatever mr.robot or raidbots says is better. i wasnt aware there was a item set from the mythic dungeons tell today.

Only just seen this now, going to merge it with the fix my DPS thread.

Hey all - Hoping to get some assistance with my DPS. Below are my logs, my character is Crevie. I'm missing Anger's which I know hurts my DPS a little bit, but all the fights I'm only at like 45% of my item lvl so I feel like I'm doing something else wrong.

    https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...pe=damage-done

A couple quick notes - Garothi we got screwed bc people weren't soaking so we all died bc OT was dead. Hasabel I was in second wep thing so my dps is expected to be low, but everything else I should parse higher.

I need some assistance on trinket use. I'm using Vari's one "Seeping scourgewing" and "Golganneth's vitality". But I also have the doggos trinket; and I've seen some dh's using eye of command. I keep wondering which one is better, cause I think doggos trinket >>>>>>>>>> eye of command

Looking for some assistance on spec here. While I do have 4pc T21, it seems I'm simming quite low for my ilvl. I do have a few upgrades in my bag, but that would likely require dropping 4pc and maybe switching back to the old ST spec. Really just looking for tips and spec advice overall. Can supply additional details if needed. Looks like I'm not allowed to post links just yet since I just registered. But I do have logs from last night's raid and can provide other details as well. Pykey - Killrogg

    ( Pawn: v1: "Pykey-Havoc": Class=Demonhunter, Spec=Havoc, Agility=23.84, CritRating=43.43, HasteRating=33.93, MasteryRating=40.80, Versatility=35.42 )

unless there is a massive ilvl difference Scourgewing is your best trinket, paired with the pantheon one. Eye of command is a fantastic single target trinket, but unless you get it at a reasonably high ilvl it generally does not compete with Scourgewing - especially on bosses where there is any target switching and you lose uptime on the buff. If you are in a position to be lucky enough to have equally high ilvl versions of the above, you would swap them out on a boss by boss basis, and have the pantheon trinket as your permanent option, not only to buff yourself but also the raid.

Could use all the help I can get: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...one&source=106

Just coming back to DH after a long hiatus and my guild geared me up through 2 quick heroic runs to bring me in for mythic. A lot has changed since I last played DH so I'm trying to learn as I go. Be brutal, please. <3
