It seems that when you reach rank 50 you will stop getting the supposedly rewards from the PvP world quests - Giving item level 680 (level 100) rewards instead.
I haven't tested this if you prestige yet, but I am not interested in prestige myself so I'm totally screwed.
Hope it helps anyone out there.
edit: Works again when advancing prestige.

Yeah having the same bug for a while now. Highly frustrating. Even more so because I am an exclusively PvP player and rather not play WoW than do a dungeon to gear up. At the same time I want to play arena and not feel forced to prestige to circumvent a bug and having to grind meaningless cosmetics.
I really hope this is fixed by tomorrow because I have been unable to progress my character for four days now.
If PvE players weren't able to receive any more gear for their character, the bug would be fixed within 2 hours I am pretty sure
