Companions and returning players

Hi, I am thinking of returning to SWTOR for the new expansion but as I left shortly after the release of their last expansion, what about companions. I did a bit of the content up to level 65 but what about all the other companions players got throughout the last expansion. Does that mean I am permanently gimped with less companions?

You are not left gimp of any companions.

IF anything, you have too many companions and there all about as generic as you can get. They no longer have any "flavor" to them.

They all do the same basically.

There are still a good number of your original crew you have not gotten back yet and it seems you wont be getting them in the new expansion either. So far no mention of them by BW or data miners.

Just find a companion you like. Level it up and thats the one you use for everything except story. If you remember, the story makes you use specific ones but if you wanted, you could level them up too.

You're not gimped with companions in any way unless you just dont level one.
