COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- The Swedish Academy says Bob Dylan is not coming to Stockholm to pick up his 2016 Nobel Prize for literature at the Dec. 10 prize ceremony.

Good, maybe we can stop with the newfound practice of giving awards to people outside of the box just to be edgy or Nobel Prizes that are more about a political statement than an award.

No such thing as an implied favor. The only asshole(s) here are those that expect someone to drop everything to run and receive some award they never asked for.

The importance of the Nobel is relative. Personally, I think it's stupid and worthless. Dylan is like 75 and probably has his life scheduled for a year in advance. He has no obligation to cancel events to make time for something he had no say in. /shrug Originally Posted by cubby
