We all know American news has long abandoned anything resembling Journalism. So saying Breitbart is more legit then other American News sources, is not setting the bar very high.

The high official accused (he is denying it) of trying to influence the local police (which anyway ignored this), isn't even from Merkel's party. Like Renyo mentioned, there is one famous case of self-censorship, and yes, sometimes there can be problems with news reports being political correct from progressive leaning news media, but you also have the other side where stuff ethnic germans did is pinned on foreigners by right wing media, or stuff just being invented.

Well the courts have judged that corporations have the right to make their employees lie on their behalf (It is called Freedom of Speech, and they have it because obviously, corporations are persons), and this is true for "news stations", so what do you expect?

Because it's so easy to fake things today thanks to everything being digital and everyone and their mother having access to tools for picture manipulation. And then there are the fuckers who take pictures out of a computer game and want to sell these as news. And we here in Europe always have a good laugh when somebody messes up with our map again and puts Switzerland into Polen and such things.
