Looking for someone fluent in Japanese, for a stupid question....

What would be the most accurate translation of...

    愛しのあ*たは遠いところへ?
    色あせぬ 永久の愛、誓ったばかりに

    悲しい時にも、辛い時にも
    空に降る、あの星をあ*たと*い

(It's the opening of FFVI opera scene)

    Is love going far away?
Loneliness without permanent love, as soon as I swear

Even when it is sad or painful
Flying in the sky, that star was said to be

I've been trying to get the hang of Japanese with Rosetta Stone but I'm barely past the fluency of a third grader. Basic grammar and words like Cat, Juice and Cop are easy to understand but as a westerner I find that Kanji is especially difficult to memorize.

Sarahtasher's text seems to read as follow in Romaji:

    --
Itoshi no a * ta wa tōi tokoro e?
iroase nu eikyū no ai, chikatta bakari ni

kanashii toki ni mo, tsurai toki ni mo
    sora ni furu, ano hoshi o a * ta to * i
    --

Something about love, stars and pressing on.

Since the second * (first one clearing being anata) made it somewhat guessing game I googled a bit and found this from FF wiki.

My beloved, are you going to a distant place?
And we just pledged eternal love...

Through sad times and hard times,
I'll think of that shooting star as you.
-------------------------- last part of the song not included in your text --------
Do I have to exchange vows with one I don't love?
What shall I do? I'm waiting for your words...
