I'm sure you folks would agree I'm a massive lefty, right? Well, I've never accused all right-wingers of being Nazis, or KKK members. Not even of all of them being alt-righters. The ONLY connections I've drawn between Trump and Hitler were that their rhetorical styles share some disturbing similarities, and I clarified that in that comparison, I was talking about early-30's Hitler, not full-blown Fuhrer-running-the-Holocaust Hitler. Because the comparison wasn't meant to imply that Trump is an anti-semite or wants to start a holocaust, but to underscore the danger of beating the drum of nationalism and fear through demagoguery.

This seems true in a very deep and profound way. Making any economic change to anything is always a 60-40 kind of thing. You get the 60% benefit at the expense of the 40% loss. And the 40% badness is very easy to attack in our political arena.

When Republicans were guaranteed that Obama would veto any attempts to overturn Obamacare, they voted again and again to overturn. And advertised these votes as accomplishments. Now that Trump will sign and pass any bill overturning Obamacare - well they may still end up overturning it anyways. But they are no longer as enthusiastic about proclaiming it their "first day huge victory". The people who lose their health care on day two, many of whom voted enthusiastically for Trump, are not so likely to be pleased.

Obamacare is most likely going to be overturned shortly this year. No useful discussion that I am aware of has discussed what will replace it. Well political slogans will replace it. But political slogans do not get people healthy.

Both democrats and republicans have basically just stopped even trying to have decent discussions about how to run our country. So every eight years we'll go back and forth between republicans and democrats being in charge. Now it is the republicans in control, and most likely Trump will be President for the next eight years. Then it will be the democrats turn again. Obama was more of a continuation of Bush rather than a refutation of him. Trump is likely to be a continuation of Obama.

Because "alt-right" is a particularly self-identified grouping on the right. If I were to start talking about "the Right" as if they were all alt-righters the world over, I'd be making the same ridiculous error. That doesn't mean you can't identify groups and individuals by their own stated ideological views, just that you can't label half the political spectrum as if it is a hive mind that shares views homogenously.

It's not that there isn't a left wing to the spectrum. It's that there is no homogeneity that lets you describe all that variety under one single label and pretend that they all share all the same views as whatever tiny subset you want to focus on does.

I actually agree with Endus for once, oh my. Generally When i slam the Left It is nearly always the "far Left" just like when I slam the "far Right".

I would say most people that are Right/Left leaning but towards the centre of the spectrum are tired of the bullshit of both End spectrums. It's just hard when Media mostly only portrays the far ends as the only 2 sides.

Anti-far-right and anti-alt-right might be true though.

You should probably read up on your political spectrums, although I think that is unlikely since facts generally have an anti-alt/far-right bias and they shy away from them.
