When your jobs is automated by AI, what are you going to do?

Scenario: it's 50 years from now and every job has been automated by artificial intelligence and robots. Your government gives you a basic income for doing nothing, it's enough for shelter and food. What do you do with your days?

I would build one of these that shoots twice as fast:

    .

I'll still be an engineer, apparently making more money than everyone else.

AIs will do your job, you've been laid off.

Hard to say, actually. Being paid enough to exist and survive isn't living. But there are no jobs, so there's no way to earn money to do more than just roof over your head and eat.

I guess I'd go walk in forests a lot and write.

If we're meant to think of this as "utopian dream world, what do?" then I'd still write, read, and play video games. I'd also like to take up archery and maybe learn to ride horses for fun, trail rides and such. Travel would be nice too.

Since money is no longer a factor, I'd trade whatever the underground currency is to keep collecting and building a preservation library of video games.

A lot of hiking/camping during the summer. A lot of cross country skiing during the winter.

We'll be dead. The robots will decide that we're a waste of time to keep alive and murder all of us.

I'm a Ancient History researcher/Museum organizer, so my job is garanteed with the eventual automatization of the society.

Where do you get the money to build that if you are only given enough for shelter and food?

In 50 years I'll be 80. So honestly the government would be giving me money for doing nothing anyway.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.

    Just, be kind.

If I make it to 92, I'll probably be sitting in a retirement community somewhere just watching TV - unless they come up with some sort of mental/physical rejuvenation process. In which case I'd probably just hike outdoors a lot.
You're not allowed to discuss conspiracy theories on mmo-champion, which makes me wonder what they're trying to hide.
