I'll remember until my dying breath the stupid look on Reid's stupid face when he tried one of his stupid trick plays in the only game that matters in football and it backfired horribly. God, I hated that man.
I am so thankful that Doug Peterson learned something from Andy Reid: What not to do in crucial moments in crucial games.

While I am admittedly nervous about the Patriots, the Eagles defense is built just like the Giants teams that beat them. They get serious pressure on the QB with just their front 4, and drop the other 7 into coverage. If they can hit Brady without blitzing, and Foles can give them half of what he did today, there's a chance.

Me and my friends played a drinking game based on how many times he would pass twice, run, and punt. Needless to say I was bombed out of my mind.

But yeah, if the defense plays like that against the pats we'll finally have a ring. The cops will have to do more than grease the light poles too.

This Superbowl will be a brawl I bet. Both well coached teams that can play physical when it's needed. Going to be fun (and nerve wracking).

You were ready to permaban people last year when the game went to OT and the patriots might not have won that coin flip and a bunch of other stuff. im scured.

Well. I was rooting for Minnesota, but the Eagles looked good I guess. I feel like I shouldn't be rooting for the Patriots because I'm a NYer, but I sort of want them to win just because of drama/legacy purposes. It's not like I even know the Eagles...

Not really. Vegas doesn't set their line based on who they think is going to win. They set them to balance the betting. They knew the general public would favour betting on the Vikes and their line matched accordingly. It's always fun when they are surprised and their line swings wildly, though.

Foles is streaky, and perplexingly it is often independent of defensive strength. In the time he was in the game vs the Cowboys he did precisely nothing, and their defense is suspect at best. In this game he stood in the face of some decent pressure and dropped dimes into tight windows with good coverage.

Guess it's all going to depend on which Nick Foles shows up. He basically played a perfect game today.

Any given Sunday, anybody can win, which is why the #1 seeds are playing eachother, ZZZZZZZZ.

I already gave part of the explanation for this, assuming you're a Cowboys fan. Foles' play can change dramatically from game to game, independently of defensive strength. Bad Foles showed up that day despite the Cowboys defense being pretty bad.

In addition to that the Eagles were not only assured of a playoff bye, they had actually sewn up 1st overall seed before that game. Consequently they sat numerous starters and had the remaining ones focus on not getting injured. Pederson in turn was planning on changing the playbook to better match his new QB, but waited until the playoffs to do so, so that opponents couldn't gameplan as easily. In short, you didn't get the Eagles best effort. You saw their best effort last night.

So much rage going on about the refs helping out the Patriots by calling a PI but realy if you look at it from a good angle and close up the moment Bouye put his right hand on Cooks it became a PI, you cant put both hands on a receiver and force him out of bounds before the ball arrives

Anyone complaining about the refs in that game is just being a blind Pat's hater. Especially the PI on Bouye, it's actually impossible to argue it was legal, yet people are desperately trying to. The Jags lost as soon as they kneeled out the last 55 seconds of the first half. They were playing not to lose and that never works against the Pats. As an underdog in Foxborough, if you get a lead you need to take every single opportunity to extend it, and they didn't. Bortles played well in the first half, and the play calling completely went away from him in the second half. Every single 1st down in the second half they just ran the ball into the line and got maybe a yard. They were basically playing with 3 downs instead of 4.

That kneeling before the second half was silly tho why not try to get in range for a FG?

    About that...

"I have a very sad thread for Jaguars fans. It's about the 4th quarter, situational awareness, play calling and predictability. Stay tuned for the very end, where these issues were (unfortunately) highlighted last June."

That thread pretty much lays bare exactly why the Jags lost and it had nothing to do with the refs and everything to do with predictable playcalling and bad time management. Pretty eye opening to see it put into order like this.

It's easier for lazy people who hate the Pats to claim the refs won for them or that the NFL wants them to win though.

Arizona Cardinals seem to now have a clear favourtie for their HC position in Steve Wilks, Carolina defensive coordinator. He;s the only one that did a second interview and there's no others planned.

Which is good cause that likely means that Brian Flores remains with the Patriots and takes over as DC. (and also good news for the Saints cause rumour was that we would nab their secondary coach to be our DC and he;s been instrumental in helping them get better this year).

It's usually the people from the surrounding counties that do the real damage. It's kind of like politics in that regard.

This is the reason most games are won or lost in the NFL. Coaching decisions and player situational awareness.
