Yeah, definitly have had a few of them pop up in the past. Not intentional at all, and removed as soon as someone reports them.
I still remember the specific ad that made me decide to start running ublock on this site. It was the series of Call of Duty ads that start small.. but everytime your mouse moved down and may have accidentally entered the "ad field" the ad would take up most of the damn page. That and BOTH sides of the website having LONG banner ads that slowed the loading of the site.

For what it is worth, I never click on ads, ever, period.. so white listing realistically does nothing?

I could get behind a model where a membership of like a dollar or 2 a month.. and get no ads, and Im sure you are thinking of some kind of incentives stuff. I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate ads. Because I never know what kind of ad it will be. Will it be video? will it be audio? will be a super-expanding ad? Will it LITERALLY BLOCK my viewing of the content until I interact with it? I don't know, and I don't want to know.

I also do it because my children use my PC, and while they know not to go to sites they are I don't know.. they don't know the danger of clicking on/hovering over ads. And that is something I will not be letting them find out.

    Yeah.

Sorry MMO-C/Curse, but if I'm blocking 10-20 ads every page, you're not getting whitelisted.

Sometimes when I rebuild a computer or am just on a new one and forget to install an ad-blocker, but then I come to MMO-Champion and immediately realize what I've done.

Yeah mmo-c was the reason i installed a blocker, too. makes the site bare-able.

Seriously ? is it really needed to have so many blockable items and scripts running on the front page.

72 is the most I have seen in a very long time.

Seriously. There is no excuse to have that many ads on a single webpage.

Bump. Today I got an even more obnoxious whitelist notification, popping up in the middle of my screen and was not able to navigate the site until I clicked it away.

    Remove this crap.
Sorry for the harsh language, but this may be the only way my point can come across to you.

We have provided you feedback. There's even another thread about why people use Adblock and gave specific examples of how and why they DON'T WANT TO whitelist MMO-C.

Let me write it down for you one more time:
    1. The advertisements on this site are obnoxious, flashy and sometimes even play sound at will.
    2. Most of the ads carry malware with them. It's not a secret anymore that even not clicking an advertisement can cause problems for you and your computer.
    3. You don't control your own advertisements. At least I don't think you do, because I wouldn't believe that you would try to infect our devices with malicious software on purpose.

Please regulate which advertisements are put onto the site.
Please don't allow for malicious, flashy or any other type of annoying advertisements on your site.
Please consider removing the whitelist notification. It is just as obnoxious as any other advertisement that is on this site.

    Thanks

There is an easy solution, just block the notification manually. For the new one you also need to block the cosmetic filter that dims the page.

Also to point out, all I get when I disable addblock are local online casino adds. I find preying on people's weaknesses and addictions disgusting.

A day late and a dollar short though. This sums up how many are feeling pretty well.

I actively hate sites that do these sorts of things. This is not the relationship you want with your users.

And now they have a pop-over nag warning to whitelist.

Sorry, MMO-C, I will NOT whitelist you until you can both guarantee that I won't be served malware AND you make your ads substantially less intrusive, annoying, and page consuming. Fortunately, uBlock managed to murder the new notification after a few picks.

Y'all keep this up, and I'm just gunna stop frequenting MMO-C.

If you have uBlock you can block the whitelist request manually. Just Right Click > Block Element.

Click the different elements of the ad then click "Create".

I use this computer for work, and to play WoW - I'm not going to risk having it die to use MMO-C.

So yeah - if I can't use the site because MMO-C won't let me, then I won't use the site - but it won't be my choice to stop coming.

There are more creative solutions....but fundamentally anything MMOC does on my browser can be stopped by other stuff I do on my browser.

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.
