Might just be a safari/mac thing though, I'll check when I get home.
No, it's there in PC/Chrome as well.

I'd love to support mmo-c, but i won't disable my adblock here before hell freezes over. It's too big of a security risk.

Mmo-C was the reason i started using adblock to begin with.

Click on adblock then click on block element and you can remove it.

The AdBlock countermeasures were an anticipated result of the revenue interruption caused by using it. I fully expected sites to do this (and MMO-C was late to the game).

I was very late to AdBlock. I never minded ads if the thousandth of a penny kept the sites I used in the black. I still whitelist a lot of sites I used frequently.

The funny thing is that it was this site, in combination with one other, that caused me to start using it.

I visited one of those click-bait sites "20 things blah blah". Each thing was on a separate page with an ad page between. Then I came here to MMO-C and one of those damn ads started auto-playing out of my speakers when I was trying to ninja-surf at work.

That's when I said enough is enough. Some of the ads on here do shady things. "Report the ad so we can remove it" was a bad solution. Don't allow shady ads to pop up. I agree with the person who said the ad selection needs to be fixed first. Now if I could only figure out a way to block known viruses from popping up as a google sponsored search results. That's the type of thing that pisses me off and makes me download AdBlock, or use different search engines.

Post something visible stating that you've changed ad servers, and I'll whitelist. Or don't. Maybe not enough people like me will whitelist. You decide if the amount of whitelists will offset the amount lost by using an ad server that pays less. Then I'll decide if I want to whitelist.

The ad PLACEMENT on here is actually quite nice. It's the kind of ad I don't mind. A top banner, a side box, easily scrolled past or ignored. Not those terrible ads that block your viewing until you close. Now... if they only DIDN'T DO SHADY THINGS. I agree with the post below. I'm pretty sure I've gotten virus warnings on this site too.

Large, gigantic full screen ads in the background, and loud, sound enabled ads at the top right force me to use adblock. Additionally, I'm fairly confident I've gottent virus or adware warnings in the past for MMO champ ads.

Better the ad control and I'm happy to whitelist.

I feel sorry for who ever worked to get that banner, judging by the two threads about it already its having the opposite effect. more people just installing ublock instead.

This should be a onetime ask or from time to time.

But the site is damn slow because of embedded vids and the other fancy stuff/scripts they are showing, so turning off the adblocker is not going to happen.

People using adblock shouldn't feel morally superior. I don't know why the people in this thread are puffing their chests or giving reasons to make themselves feel better. You could just silently use your adblock and move on, you know.

Just get the Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus. Let's you manually disable annoying parts of websites so you don't see them.

As others have said, this site is the reason I have an ad blocker in the first place. And that's not because I don't think the site doesn't deserve the money. I'd happily enable some ads to give you revenue. But not if that comes with a risk to my computer or massively reducing my browsing experience. Because the amount of problems ads on this site have cause me have been terrible.

For me it wasn't the repeated malware, illegal ads that snuck through the ad providers despite not being acceptable, popups, insta-redirects to shady company websites, auto-playing audio nonsense, flash crap, or infinite loop redirects causing the site to be terribly slow and massively BW heavy (the things this site has done to my poor phone bill is a war crime!). None of that helped. I'm sure you didn't intend that to happen, and I'm sure you let the ad server know. But for me the fact that it kept on happening was the issue. An ad-blocked solved all those problems, permanently.

I just don't trust you anymore. Or maybe I should say, I don't trust your ad server anymore. As such, the ad-blocker stays. All this button achieves is forcing me to click a damned button every 5 page views. That is annoying. Not more annoying than the ads added though. But I'm sure that is a problem that can be solved if you put your mind to it. I'd rather you put your mind to solving the trust issue.

Will MMO-champ take financial responsibility for damages caused by the advertisements on their site? I will white list if I have some sort of guarantee like that.

I have to say, I just downlaoded uBlock Origin because of this nonsense and haven't had this stupid popup since. Very helpful addon, thank you.

I'll whitelist when they get the ads and trolls under control.

And nor should you be blindly defending them. They have no moderation of the ads that get put on here and in the past my AV has given me warnings. So when they get that moderation in control I'll whitelist. We good? Or are you gonna come back and defend them and that we are the monsters for blocking 20-40 ads that they didn't even moderate?

But again thanks @Peggle. Ublock worked wonders and thanks for actually helping other people.

Look around. You are the only one going on about morals and how adblock is wrong. You are in the minority here.
