Clarification

A while ago I posted regarding threads where the OP quotes a third party source and makes no further contribution. It was determined that such threads were acceptable. Is this still the policy of the moderation team?

There's no black and white here of "threads like that are always okay" or "threads like that are never okay". It depends on what kind of story is being linked, it depends on how people react to the story with follow up posts and there's probably more reasons why we would or would not allow threads like that.

Spoken in general though we don't have a problem with a thread by someone that links to a news story.

If you have a questions about or a problem with a specific post, why don't you just report it or send a link to it and your comments on it to a global moderator in private (since this would constitute moderation discussion) and we can handle it from there.
