Hey guys its been years since I've been on here and I used to lurk and post in this sub forum a LOT and I've been kinda out of touch with everything since I moved for college but I've got a bigger apartment now with a big desk and despite not having played PC games for over 3 years I wanted a nice, small form factor PC that I can play Overwatch, League, Hearthstone, and whatever random games new or old on. I already have a monitor I use to connect to my MacBook and its a 27" 4k monitor. Don't have an exact 'budget' but trying not to break $2k (lower is better). I'm also going to be using the PC for some Excel work etc. I also need it to have WiFi (particularly good wifi cards, I have a 1Gbps upload/download wireless and I want it to at least take advantage of 100mbps+
I don't think I'll bother overclocking either on this one but I'm sure you guys can give me the status of overclocking these days
Heres what I had in mind so far:

CPU: i5-7600 3.5Ghz
CPU Cooler: Stock Intel
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H270N-WIFI Mini ITX
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2133MHz
Storage: 500GB Samsung 850 Evo SSD
Video Card: EVGA GTX 1070 Founders Edition (thought a blower style would be better for an ITX build but please correct me)
Case: Corsair 250D
PSU: Corsair RMx 550w


Was also thinking for Keyboard+headset (I have a mouse): Corsair Strafe RGB (w/ Cherry MX Reds) and the Sennheiser G4ME ZERO headset.

I have no clue if I can run 4K with this (preferred) but if not, can someone give me an idea of how bad it would be to run at a lower, non-native resolution?

250D is not really that small of a case to warrant the use of a blower style cooler and a ITX mobo. Also, there is no excuse not to take advantage of overclocking these days. What is your budget on this whole ordeal?

For the headsets as usual I would recommend Kingston HyperX Cloud Core/Revolver.

I thought the 250D only works with ITX boards for some reason and given that I don't want to bother adding extra fans etc and I suck at cable management I thought the blower style and the clock on the founders edition would be ideal. Also, with overclocking, I would need a (k) CPU, a Z-mobo (the Z ones with WiFi are expensive) and a good cooler (all of which will add on to the price where I'm shooting for around $1.5k but can go up to $2k as explained in the OP.

My idea was a great GPU with a decent non-hyperthreaded CPU that is good enough to not deal with OC and hence save money that way.

Any case recommendations? Any specific builds at all? any idea on anything I asked in the OP with regards to 4K and non-native gaming, etc?

For the price of that 7600 you should be able to get a Ryzen 5 1600X/1600. Which should be better in most situations. ITX Boards are out for AMD as well now but stock appears to be limited. For the video card, 1070 is the best in it's price range, nothing from AMD matches it. AMD Vega cards are out soon, but that could be anything from 1-several months.

You can save quite a lot buy going for a regular ATX build. Size difference would be small (if at all, especially with AIO) and you're going to have a larger choice of components. You can also save on Windows by getting it from Kinguin (make sure to get buyer protection). Note that you're going to need a fan replacement on a H100i v2 if you value silence. Storage part is overkill but the part selection itself is fine. PSU, memory is good.

And yes, you can comfortably run 4K 60fps with a GTX 1080Ti.

GTX 1070 is weak for 4K. If you really want to save money on the build I suggest you save on anything other than a GTX 1080Ti.
