New players looking for the right server (EU)

Hey So I'm a semi hardcore raider on wow and I'm also quite a heavy pvper
and me and my girlfriend are starting ff xiv and we are looking for a server a strong pve and pvp community if those can be on the same server great if not then could you please inform us of which is good for which

PvP is all instanced and cross server (afaik) so it doesn't matter what server you pick really. I would suggest one of the new worlds if those are still open.
