Obvious Triggering threads

If a title of a thread "triggers" me I don't click it.

I know its hard for some people, I understand that, but I have this notion of "this title looks like something thats going to annoy me better not go here". It's a matter of will.

But then again I am the type of guy who doesn't have a facebook or twitter, has never been been to 4chan or reddit, and has a plug-in that disables Youtube comments... The internet is a very trigger inducing place and it feels like you wanna strangle everyone, follow my example and take your own action against it.

It usually takes a day or two for a mod to respond to a PM. But I've also brought up this issue of uneven moderating. Yesterday in fact. I do think they're too lenient and polite about the obvious baits.

I dont want to criticize the moderators. They are all doing that without payment, and i understand moderating a forum can be a problematic job. I want to talk about the idea to add a more strict moderation to the off topic forums. Thats all.

Well the OT forums are, as a mod put it, "a completely different duck" and there is always something going down there. I'm not sure how that should be handled. We could just remove it, or entirely stop all political discussion. It would save time and trouble.

Best thing is to just report it and move on. Trust me, any effort and time on such a time is entirely wasted. It's best to save yourself some sanity and ignore it. It is possible to actually ignore peoples posts, if you go into their profile. It just ain't worth bothering with some posters, so it's best to report and move on.

I don't think you even remotely understand what the terms 'left' and 'right' mean. 'Anarchism' is not compatible with the idea of enforcement, same as 'authoritarianism' is incompatible with the ideas of free market. To make it as laymantermish as possible, left-wing is the collectivistic idea that 'you will do what we consider right' (and it doesn't matter who this 'we' is - whether it's decided by nation, class, or anything else), while right is the individualistic idea that 'you can do whatever you want as long as it doesn't directly hurt others'.

So, to make it short, left-libertarian and right-authoritarian are oxymorons. Any form of socialism is authoritorian and left-wing in its nature; and people who aggressively attack others are NOT anarchists, that's a meme taught to you by bullshit like rage against the machine etc. And any form of free market / little to no government is right-wing.

We do close threads if they are clearly there just to mess with people and not to spark any real discussion. If you see something you think is baiting and not trying to actually start a convo do report it and we'll evaluate if we agree with that or not.
