Oh, and China, who I don't buy for a minute will accept a unilateral first strike against North Korea and not respond. Make all the arguments you want, I don't see that happening. If NK launches first, we have a shot.
What I mean is that I wouldn't be surprised if Trump used some kind of military action as a way to distract whether it relates to NK or not.

Let's hope he realizes that nothing he does will stop Muellers investigation. He could order a ground invasion of NK tomorrow after dropping a nuke on Pyongyang and the investigation will still go on uninterrupted even if literally everyone else forgets about it.

He could always hit a place incapable of starting WW3. Yemen's nice this time of year.

Oh boy, you better not start giving the alt-right ideas of this sort.

There were plenty of times in recent history where everyone else thought that at least "Trump/the alt-right is above some extremely low/stupid act" only to be proven wrong shortly later.

Nothing short of Washington DC being nuked is going to stop Robert Mueller and the special council from investigating his collusion with the Russians. Even if the media isn't talking about it, the investigation is still going on and sooner or later everything is going to fall in to place. Don't think just because no one is talking about it that it went away. Come hell or high water justice will be served.
    Save him from what exactly?

Nothing will come from the investigation that will affect Trump.

Aww, poor dear. It already has.

The investigation is a drain on Trump's resources, specifically, his finite ability to remain on point. And now, every time something new pops up, the WH has to deal with it. Rumors that Trump will fire Sessions? Now they all have to get out in front of cameras to respond. Not just because Trump is an egomaniac, but because the investigation is such big news that they can't handwave it or ignore it. A rumor Trump will fire Mueller? That's a press conferencin'. Mueller looking into his finances? Time for Trump to shake his fist at a passing cloud! Trump can't let bad news go, he has to be loved, he has to be right. So everything Mueller's investigation does, Trump has to stop what he's doing and try like hell to force his rabid fanbase (how's it going, by the way?) to ignore it. "All is well, Priebus being subpoena-d is no big deal," Trump will have to say, "if I say 'fake news' in the mirror five times it will go away."

And, far more importantly than Trump's rabid fanbase's opinion on the subject (because they are reality deniers), is the House and Senate. They are distancing themselves. You're already seeing it. Granted, Trump is pouring fuel on that fire for attacking McConnell for literally the opposite of logic and reason, but it was happening before that, too. Six months in, and Conway is pleading to cameras with runny mascara "We should all support Trump at all costs! Why don't you love him? LOVE HIM!" But this investigation is unpresidented, and more importantly, it's growing. Property records? WH staff interviews? Two scoops of grand juries?

The investigation is toxic to Trump, his image, and therefore his agenda. Where's the tax reform? Where's the Wall? Where's the infrastructure plan? Where's the rank-and-file GOP falling behind Trump's agenda, no questions asked? The investigation is ongoing. And as long as it is, there will be that germinating seed of fear and distrust within the GOP, that they don't want to be around when it's over. This thing is going to take years, and even if it finds nothing -- seems odd, Trump Jr tweeted the emails and Trump fired Comey, but whatever -- the damage it does merely by existing is enough.

Remember: there were 8 Benghazi hearings. They found nothing. And look where we are now.

Yeah... I think if a person who is capable of learning anything has learned anything when it comes to Trump is that don't make assumptions before something has actually happened and is actually finalized.

Let's save this comment and revisit it in, say, a year?
