Unhappy LeBron James saddened by Charlottesville: ‘Make America Great Again huh?!’

    http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/08/lebr...r-politics-nba

Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James joined other pro athletes in expressing sadness and disappointment in everything happening in Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday.

A “Unite the Right” white nationalist rally was held to protest the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue in the city. It was declared an “unlawful assembly,” but resulted in violence and a counter-protest, which you can read more about at USA TODAY.

James said that “it’s sad what’s going on in Charlottesville,” and he added what appears to be a statement directed at President Donald Trump. He used Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan while writing, “Huh?! He said that.”

In a follow-up tweet, James said that the youth deserve better.

This is far from the first time that the three-time NBA champion has been outspoken when it comes to politics.

Here’s a quick rundown of the past year:

Last summer, James tweeted in support of Black Lives Matter and said he “shed multiple tears” after police shot and killed Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Additionally, he stood on stage with Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony at the ESPYS to make a statement for social change.

In the fall, James endorsed Hillary Clinton for president and campaigned for her in November.

After Trump won the presidential election, James wrote a message on Instagram telling everyone to “continue the faith.” And in February, the NBA star said this of Trump’s immigration act, per The Hollywood Reporter:

“Diversity is what makes this country so great. We should all continue to speak up and fight for ideas that bring people together regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religious beliefs or any other differences.”
Ouch! The top American athlete speaking out like this against the neo nazis and Trump. Rough day for them

Is journalism now just the task of posting stuff people write on twitter for people who don't use twitter?
