    What to upgrade? if anything?

I`ll try to be brief: I want to get a Acer Predator x34a ultrawide curved monitor, and i know running games at 1440p in 21:9 is demanding on a computer, i was wondering if anyone here could tell me with certainty if my pc would be able to run said games? Mostly WoW, Overwatch, varying steam games, BF4, and likely future games of course.

I`ll list my specs here and hope someone could take the time.

    AMD FX-8320 Black Edition, Socket-AM3+,

Corsair H55 Hydro Series CPU Cooler

    ASUS M5A97 R2.0, Socket-AM3+

Asus ROG Strix Gaming gtx 1060 6gb

    HyperX Fury DDR3 1600MHz 8GBx2 (16gb)

and here`s a link to the monitor i want:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Predat.../dp/B01DOIFV12

    Thanks

Start with getting a 1080Ti (EVGA FTW3 or ASUS ROG Strix versions). I'd replace the whole system right away, but you need a top system here, so it's gonna be very expensive, better go one at a time.

Yeah it`s getting old, but since i can do most games now with well over 100fps, i was hoping i could get a monitor upgrade without having to upgrade just yet, ah well

3440x1440 is almost 2.5 times more pixels than 1080p. You're probably gonna be fine with that CPU on a higher resolution (especially if you're running over 4.5 GHz overclock), but you're still losing performance due to it.

If i may ask, new to this really, is there a specific point in that rig i should start with? there`s a site here that offers an upgrade package with a MSI B350 motherboard and a ryzen 1600x CPU for pretty cheap

With your requirements you should always start with a GPU. I wouldnt recommend AMD CPU for the stuff you're playing.

I wouldnt buy anything right now. Coffeelake is coming in 5-6 weeks. As far as a GPU you could go ahead and get a 1070 or 1080, which 1440p will be no sweat for them in your games except WoW as your current cpu isnt the best at IPC.

WoW wants IPC, and Intels is superior at this moment and with Coffee around the corner there is no place for a 1600/1600X unless your on a budget and need it NOW or Intel decides to price the 8600k/8700k out of the market.
