    It does, tho, the color of the icon on the map and minimap changes, also there is a glow around it suggesting how many groups are forming for that particular rare.
    "Icons
    - white skulls = no loot needed
    - blue skulls = loot needed

    - red glow = (relatively) few groups found
    - green glow = (relatively) more groups found"

    I'm using Handynotes_Argus with ArgusEliteTracker. Handynotes_Argus in itself is enough but the other addon shows a nice "always up" list which is easier to read and refresh.

    Summarized how the rares work:

    All the rares in Argus are on a specific spawn cycle. For certain hours, I think for about 4 hours (not fully sure) a certain amount of rares are up. During that time, they have a few minutes spawn time. After that cycle ends, at a full hours, example 14.00 (2PM) they despawn and will be gone at least 4 hours (if that was the time). During that time they will never spawn. This means if you hunt a rare and he is not up, wait tops 5 minutes. If he is not up by then, he won't be up till at least the next full hour. For instance, if you look for Vigilant Thanos and you check at 13.15 and he is not up at 13.20, he can spawn earliest at 14.00. If you come back at 14.00 and he is not up by 14.05, he can't spawn earlier than 15.00 etc.

    It can look like this (with example hours and 3 rares same time cycle with a total of 9):

    Cycle 1 (08.00 to 12.00):
    - Random Rare 1 up
    - Random Rare 2 up
    - Random Rare 3 up

    Cycle 2 (12.00-16.00)
    - Random Rare 4 up
    - Random Rare 5 up
    - Random Rare 6 up
    - Random rare 1-3 can't be up as they were in cycle 1

    Cycle 3 (16.00-20.00)
    - Random Rare 7, 8, 9 can be up
    - Random Rare 1, 2, 3 can also be up again and 7, 8, 9 not up
    - A mix of these, example 1, 8, 3 up
    - Random rare 4-6 can't be up as they were in cycle 2

    Cycle 4 (20.00-00.00)
    - Any 3 random rares can be up except the 3 that were up in cycle 3.

    This means that there are no guarantees for any certain amount of uptime on any of the rares. If you are unlucky, the uptime can be really low and if you are lucky, it can be up half of the day.

    However, rares that are part of a WQ will ignore this cycle and spawn regulary until the WQ has expired.
