Mattis loosens RoE in Afghanistan

Obviously, not all of RoE updates were made public - publishing the entire RoE could compromise human lives.

But the two major, publicly annouced changes:

- advisors can be attached to lower native units (in terms of chain of command), allowing for instance small Afghan army units to carry a FOC, ergo providing them with CAS

- NATO forces will now be able to commence airstrikes without having to be in direct contact - allowing, for instance, target training camps

This is really exciting!
I am sure that it will lead to more islamists/active muslims/howeverdoyouwanttocallthem dead, therefore more human lives saved.
