I didn't see it as promoting violence, necessarily. But rather his concern that under socialism there may be more desperate people willing to take desperate measures to survive, and as such, personal protection would be a must.

It's honestly still a bunch of scaremongering, no matter which way you look at it. The only democratic presidential candidate that said anything serious about going after guns is so behind in polling he may as well be irrelevant.

Beto dropped out of the race; or is there another Democrat candidate you're talking about?

Joking aside, if Trump wants to keep his seat after he's Convicted or loses the 2020 election, he'll have to start a major war, or have the US suffer some major terrorist attack.

Starting a major war, I think they would make him look worse now with how fatigued we are with it already and would alienate part of his base already who still cling to the false hope of him bring people back home.

Major terrorist attack, I could see him contacting Russia to get right on that for him if he can get the message out without being caught.

I know when this is all done and fuck-up is out of office, Russia will have hell to pay, especially with them being linked to helping fund the Brexit backers and all to push for it.
Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add
    "mmo-champion.com##li.postbitignored"
to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.

When dealing with the right-wing, always think "projection". What this probably means is that he would be only too happy to start stealing from his neighbours if he thought he needed to, so he works on the assumption that everyone else would do the same. Which makes sense, most right-wing people believe they should be allowed to take whatever they want.

I think they're still just pissy about reality shitting on their "The settlers and Indians were friends" mythology about the holiday.

Well i assume it would be as successful as the wars in Iraq / Afganistan and Vietnam.

I agree that some cupcake war in a shit hole would just channel the Wag-the-Dog crowd and look even worse. I was thinking more along the lines of Russia-helps-out either internationally so we have to respond or domestically so we're the victims. I could see SF going up in a nuclear fire and Trump suspending the Constitution. Really those are just thoughts from books I've read, but you get the idea.

I sincerely hope that Russia will be made to pay. Like go-to-war made to pay kind of thing (ironic given the above). If fuck-up is removed from office or loses in 2020, the Truth and Reconciliation Committee will last a decade.

No shock here. Rudi used to be a leader, perhaps he'll step up now and turn state's evidence.

It actually looks worse. Not just distancing from Rudi, but perhaps hanging the entire Ukraine bribery/extortion exchange on Rudi. Won't work because the evidence all points to Trump, but if he tries, Rudi might turn over what he knows.

    Yep.

At this point, Giuliani can either accept his being scapegoated, and go down for bribery, extortion, treason against the USA, and other charges. Or he can hand what he knows over to Congress.

Before anyone bitches about attorney-client privilege; A> that could mean Giuliani gets disbarred, which is way preferable to criminal convictions from his point of view, and B> it doesn't even apply to Congressional subpoenas in the first place, and there's plenty of precedent on that point.

I also believe that it doesn't apply when you're commiting a felony.

Unfortunately the attorney-client privilege isn't Rudi's to revoke. It's so strong in the U.S. that even if the client revokes it in writing, it's not enough unless the attorney also does so. Neither of which will happen in the case of Cheeto/Rudi.

What will have to happen is a ruling by a court saying that Rudi is no longer an attorney in the events at question, but in fact a co-conspirator, and therefore has pierced the a/c veil. Which is how they got Cohen.

The dilemma here is I think Rudi is just as corrupt as Trump. He was doing this all for himself by again like Manafort boasting he was close to the President. I mean all these accusations so far as many have stated, make Rudy worse than any crime boss he ever prosecuted. For whatever reason, divorce or just financial problem or simple greed, Rudy turned into a real corrupt person in his latter years. Now, while out for himself maybe he found an accomplice in Trump. Birds of a feather? Maybe them back in the NY days hanging around mobsters brought them closer together to pull this off.

Seems atm in a strange way, that Rudy remains loyal to Trump and whatever he did along with helping Trump, Rudy believes Trump has his back. IF Rudy turned yeah its GG. But maybe Rudy is dumb or smart enough to know to keep quiet and hope to be bailed out.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!
