Oh and while we are celebrating almost hitting a record...again.....some other records are getting close too

U.S. consumer debt is now breaching levels last reached during the 2008 financial crisis
Ben Mohr, senior research analyst of fixed income at investment consultant Marquette Associates, calculated that total U.S. consumer debt hit $14 trillion in the first quarter of 2019, surpassing the roughly $13 trillion of leverage accumulated in credit cards, auto loans and mortgages and other debt back in 2008, when those souring loans and securities pegged to them helped to send global markets into a tailspin

Empire State manufacturing index posts largest-ever drop into negative territory in June

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...08/1451609001/

The Morgan Stanley Business Conditions Index fell by 32 points in June, to a level of 13 from a level of 45 in May. This drop is the largest one-month decline on record.
“The decline shows a sharp deterioration in sentiment this month that was broad-based across sectors,” economist Ellen Zentner said in a note to clients on Thursday.

The closest thing to real performance tracking is the Wilshire 5000. It tracks over 3500 stocks and only limits OTC and penny stocks on minor markets.
Though they still do some adjustments at least they don't kick out companies that have a few bad years to prop up the index.

    Wilshire 5000 hit 29,760 on 1/22/2018
    Today they are at 30,008.45

Flat now for almost 17 months.

They hit this "record" area around 7 times already before something stupid is said or done by the administration.

Well... The Fed isn't going to cut rates. Inb4 the market reacts poorly.

A supporter of President Donald Trump was arrested Tuesday night for assaulting an Orlando Sentinel reporter outside the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, where the president was holding a rally to mark the start of his bid for re-election in 2020.

Daniel Kestner, 51, of St. Augustine, can be seen in a red MAGA hat harassing and hurling curses at Sentinel reporter Michael Williams before smacking a cell phone out of Williams' hand which was being used to record the incident.

Bad news for Trump on the Census lawsuit. The judge is going to re-examine whether the administration added the question to discriminate against immigrants and non-white residents in light of the new information released in recent weeks. It was initially ruled out as there wasn't enough evidence to support it, but it seems the emails uncovered have given the judge enough information to re-examine the question.

This doesn't bode well for Trump.

Those were just his greatest hits tour. This time it's for real... with the same old songs. This reality TV show could use some new writers.
