There should be a system where Every time a politician lies it should be punished with a hefty fine.

Of course they will have a a day or two to provide evidence for their claim.

Not a day or two to explain what they “actually meant was”. That would incur a fine as well.

I'm not worried about the Republicans who will never turn on Trump, I'm concerned with the independents who still don't support impeachment.

Are we talking Woke Independents here, because there aren't enough real independents in the country to matter in anything.

Ok... first, there is no way in hell Gen. Abdi is in any way grateful to Trump, considering that same Gen. Abadi told the associated press today that the Turks will still attacking, and pled for help to save his people. Last week he called the deal "Atrocious" and agreed to only very limited withdrawals. He remains insistent that the Kurds have not abandoned the area that Trump claims belongs to Turkey now. So there is absolutely no way that Abdi graciously thanked Trump for all he has done, like Trump is pretending here. This is just a disgusting lie.

Second: "Perhaps it is time for the Kurds to start heading to the Oil Region!"... Just what the fuck. Apparently he thinks Kurds are no obligated to protect Syrian oil for some reason, in the absence of US Troops, which he just withdrew. And of course talking about oil while our allies are still dying.

How Trump is still managing to disgust me on this every day is amazing. I keep thinking he has found a new low, but he keeps breezing past it.

Because our politics are so rooted in 2 party you get people who are centrists that end up voting for candidates from either side, because they're the most centrist candidate. Pretending they don't exist is fucking stupid.

I come from a country with parliamentary government where there are more than two parties: so, no.

America's weird disdain for political parties is it's own problem. They can actually be quite useful instruments in a functioning democracy.

It's 100% political hipsterism, at least in the United States. What's the advantage of registering as an Independent? You can't vote in the primaries unless you're registered with a party. All they're doing is opting out of half of the process.

Whenever I see someone speculate about a civil war on the horizon, I can't help but assume those people actually want to see it. There isn't a shred of evidence that this country is on the brink of domestic war. It doesn't come off as serious political commentary, it comes off as wishful thinking.
