Why am I not surprised that someone who will vote Republican regardless of the candidate would defend racism.

Im a capitalist pure and simple. This isnt a store refusing to serve. This is his property. If something decreases the value he has all the right to protect his assets. If it were up to the Democrats you would love to dictate how much he charges and force certain sections to be section 8. Its already happening in the northeast. We are building 4k a month apartment complexes and 25 percent has to be section 8 or they wont even give us a permit. That in turn lowers the value of the rest of the apartments if they can be rented at all.

This is him refusing to serve... because he's racist. I'm glad we have that covered. Damn, I love watching you try and justify this. "He's not racist, he just thinks black people will hurt his property values, and he wants to pander to racists."

Now, if you were a capitalist, pure and simple, then surely you opposed Trump's tariffs, attacks on businesses, going against free trade, his immigration restrictions, and push to limit the freedom of association of social media companies... right?

keep going, you are saying the quite part out loud regarding what you Trump supporters believe.

I am against the tarrifs. The immigration thing im all for due to the fact that construction workers who do things by the book cant compete with people who illegally hire illegal aliens at lower wages.

Then, you are lying when you said, "Im a capitalist pure and simple."

Well, that lie didn't last too long.

And so rather than punish the people illegally hiring undocumented immigrants, you support putting them all in cages forever without adequate housing or medicine or due process in order to send a message to world that America is a shithole and people shouldn't want to come here.

is that the immigrants fault or the companies who illegally pay them under the table? sometimes even recruiting across the border?

And if you think "black people" are a threat to the value, that's straight-up racism.

If it were up to the Democrats you would love to dictate how much he charges and force certain sections to be section 8. Its already happening in the northeast. We are building 4k a month apartment complexes and 25 percent has to be section 8 or they wont even give us a permit. All of this demonstrates a pretty deep failure to understand what property ownership even is.

It is not sovereignty. You do not get to make the rules on your property. You get a restricted suite of options set by the state/municipality, based on zoning and building codes and all that. If the city has deemed they need more Section 8 housing, then yes, any development you want to make will be expected to include Section 8 housing. If not in that one building, then elsewhere in the area the city has designated for such development, and if you have multiple buildings to develop, you may (not necessarily) be able to put most of it in one building or set of buildings.

If you can't or won't abide by the city's requirements, you're free to refuse, and they're free to not give you any permissions to build anything on that property until you comply. That it's "your property" doesn't come into that discussion in any way. If you don't like the requirements, you're free to sell the property to someone who does. And if you lose money on that sale, well, that just means you made a poor business decision because you were willfully ignorant of the basis civil requirements of the property, and too obstinate to accept that you're not a sovereign nation unto yourself.

This isn't unique to the USA. It is not unique to the Democrats. It is standard city planning, and you'll find the like basically everywhere in the developed world.

Generally people consider something like belief that certain races are superior to others to be racism.

Refusing to rent to blacks (or muslims) is plain discrimination, not racism.

Racists certainly discriminate those they consider to be inferior or superior; but racist reasons aren't the only reasons for discrimination.

The voice of reason: "The people who’ve had to endure real racism throughout their lives are the ones being hurt, because now the term “racist” is meaningless. It went from someone who was filled with vitriol and hate and oppressed particular races to meaning a bloke who didn’t let you park where you want. The word “Nazi” used to mean someone who wanted to take people to a concentration camp. Now it means fighting for someone’s right to say whatever they like."

You mean real racism, like being refused goods and/or services, because you are black?

The 1950's would like to have a word with you.
