Yep. That's why it's a worthwhile point to make.
But IS McConnell as hated as Bevin? Don't get me wrong, I sincerely hope McGrath runs away with it. I'm just not sure the people who voted against Bevin are going to be voting against McConnell, particularly since FOX and Trump are continually painting him as one of the few things keeping the Democrats and spooooooooky socialism at bay.

McConnell was rated the most hated Senator in the country, and the most recent poll I can find has him winning by 3% to a Democrat.

    A woman Democrat.

Partisanship can blind the intentionally ill-informed, but, anyone who's paying attention has seen McConnell fail his state over and over. He's probably the least popular in his state that he's ever been, and the coronavirus hasn't even peaked there yet.

There's a "he's going to need some KY" joke in there somewhere, but I can't find a place to shove it in.

I'm aware of this too, but I'm skeptical that it'll be enough to give McGrath the seat in November. As terrible as Bevin is he still only lost narrowly. It can be argued that his policy decisions have a more direct impact on KY than those of McConnell so the people of Kentucky had more of an axe to grind there.

I have no source for this but I could swear I read that McConnell's been rated one of the least-liked for several terms now--didn't keep Kentucky from stuffing his wrinkled carcass back in that Senate seat, though.

I'm not trying to be a pessimist here. I'm just not going to hang my hopes on people who have continually voted against their own interests.

That's not really the Gotcha you seem to think it is. Information beyond the Steele Dossier has implicated Trump in collusion rather handily. His own words show how he's receptive to help from other countries.

Mostly just mentioning it since undoubtedly the new Republican talking point due to any revelations that 'surprise surprise' Russia sowed some disinformation into the dossier is that this is incontrovertible evidence that Russia was trying to elect Hillary! That Trump has been against Russia all along!(Even though all evidence points to the contrary with Trump)

Hell I'm expecting Tucker and Hannity to be shouting to the high heavens about this for the next week or so, even though the article doesn't really establish what they are going to be saying it does. The article just talks about how Russia infiltrated the research to sow disinformation, not that Clinton was attached to the russians(Despite Grassly trying to insist this.) As anyone with that takes the time to think rationally will realize "Ofcourse Russia did that because its in their best interest to try and sow as much chaos in the U.S as possible. Doesn't change all the other evidence showing how much Trump sucks up to Putin and his own words saying he'd take another countries help to win an election instead of calling the FBI.

Declassified footnotes from the Justice Department
    Might as well stop there.....

The newly unmasked details show that a document circulated among members of the Crossfire Hurricane team in early October 2016 showed that Person 1 had “historical contact with persons and entities suspected of being linked to RIS” — or Russian Intelligence Services. The document described reporting that Person 1 “was rumored to be a former KGB/SVR officer.”
So one of Steele's sources was someone who was in Russian Intelligence and that makes them unreliable? If Russia is working against us then why oh why does Trump get on his knees every time he sees Putin?

The newly declassified footnotes also show the Crossfire Hurricane team received information from a still-redacted source “indicating the potential for Russian disinformation influencing Steele’s election reporting” seemingly related to the biggest salacious and unverified claims in Steele’s dossier — that Trump watched prostitutes urinate on a bed in Moscow during the Miss Universe Pageant in 2013 and that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen met with shady Russians in Prague in 2016.
They can't disprove the dossier so they attack a source without proof? "Sad."

But all of this is moot since we already caught Trump red handed trying to blackmail Ukraine into helping him against Biden. Trump's a criminal and he's impeached. Deal with it.

Considering they fired the watchdog and those who raised concerns about authoritarian abuses, I'm not going to trusts the fascists trying to push lies.

    Trump is a fucking fascist.

And I've actually seen "Christians" defend that tweet. Holy fuck, his supporters are so dumb.

Wait, I thought we knew Steele asked his Russian contacts for help. Why is "OMG Steele talked to Russians!" suddenly supposed to be critical info?

Well, the Trump family is taking twelve times the number of protected trips. For context, that's up from 133 trips on average to a whopping 1,625.

I'm so glad that taxpayers are funding Trump and his trust fund children's excursions.
Where's @Thwart? He was the one clutching his pearls in that other thread about how Biden used his positions to enrich himself and his family.

People who complain about this kind of stuff really don't understand how intelligence gathering works. They think spy movies are reality, when it's really just favor trading and semi to sub legal deal making.

Trump was asked by what metrics he'd consider opening the country.

    He refused to answer.

Actually, he pointed at his head and said "right here". No, really. Wanna see the video?

He had no useful answer. Meanwhile, health experts with actual degrees and shit are saying "May 1 is still too early."

    More oddities.

White House stepped in to grant contracts to companies, overruling FEMA who usually handles the process. This alone is odd enough, but what's more odd is that the White House gave the contract to a company that they'd never contracted with and as a no-bid deal.

And predictably, it's causing more chaos in an already chaotic situation.

Um, I think lockedout was being sarcastic. After all, he wouldn't quote a giant text box, only to claim the man he defends, Trump, "needs a little family time" by which he means over a dozen times the amount Obama took, that Trump personally called out was too much and I quoted that. I mean, that'd be a violation of two forum rules -- quoting the whole thing just to say one line, and also blatant trolling. And he wouldn't admit that.

Of course, by virtue of it being sarcasm, he's admitting there is no defense for Trump's actions here. But it's the better of the two options, and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I think Trumpsters will do anything to defend Trump. They defend his racism, sexual assaults, and his creepy obsession with his daughter.

Trump doesn't understand anything about the Constitution, but he's happy to talk about it with confidence.
