Indeed. For all intents and purposes she's correct - she just doesn't know why she's correct.

I kind of expect any/all GOP members to do this - what I would be delighted in calling, as you put it, the Duncan Hunter approach - never resign. To a certain extent, it makes sense. But is still awful.

If he's charged by the FBI and found guilty then he's out. Not sure how he survives that. Question is what happens to his senate seat. Its NC so going to be swing seat if its open and vacant and there's an election.

    Two things on that:

First - the fact that the FBI was confident enough with it's investigation and information to actually seize his phone makes me think the conviction is a done deal. Not whether it will happen, but if it gets to that point, he'll be found guilty.

Second - regardless of how long the process takes, and i can see then spreading this out for a VERY long time, so long as NC doesn't lose it's Dem governor, that seat has a high probability for swinging blue. Which, IIRC, wasn't one the GOP thought they would lose.

    Very interesting.

Oh yes. He gets to appoint the replacement doesn't he? At least until the next election. I just checked the NC rules though, they state that any replacement senator has to be of the same party as the vacating senator. However there are probably still ways to turn that to the dems advantage.

Of course it does - the NC legislature is one of the worst in voter suppression and partisan bias. Perhaps they can get that changed....

Perhaps the NC governor could just appoint who they want (i.e. a Democrat), claim the law is unconstitutional, and see what happens.

Well their state supreme court is democrat dominated, so its possible.

Lol. They could rule that its a vast over-reach of the legislative branches power and infringes on the governors powers. The inverse of what the republicans just did in Wisconsin. Fight fire with fire.

Well, the mask isn't there primarily to protect you from outside contaminants. It's to protect others from whatever you're emitting. At least for the most part.

Good idea - and with the NC Court democrat dominated, as you pointed out, it might have a high chance of working.

Wonder why William Barr’s DOJ is willing to go after Republican Senator Richard Burr?

    Read this.
Burr’s committee is due to release the final installment of their 5-part report on Russian interference in 2016.
    The focus: counterintelligence findings.

I don't care if it says that Trump is completely innocent or whatever around russia, or russia apparently didn't try and interfere... INNOCENT PEOPLE DON'T ACT LIKE THIS!

Dude I'm a medical professional. I know. A mask is still contaminated once you touch it.

Well, you're bringing it up like it's somehow an argument against masks.

You love freedom? You love yourself and don't give a fuck about anyone else.

Freedom is to take responsibility and decide on your own to reduce unnecessary contact as much as you can. Freedom is to protect your fellow Americans by being setting an example and wearing a mask correctly. Freedom is to stay the fuck at home and cut your own hair.

This weird myth that Americans are unique in their "freedom" or "love of freedom" etc. truly boggles my mind. It's like a whole lot of people who have never left the country or spoken with anyone outside of America uncritically gobble up all the mid-1900's newsreals about American exceptionalism as if that shit's all still, or really ever was, true.

I just find it funny that Republicans have to protect Trump from himself:

It would be hilarious if #ObamaGate is what forces Trump to testify under oath.

It won’t and republicans are pretty much shutting down all ObamaGate bullshit. They are willing to attack lower level officials, but it’s as obvious to them as anyone, that it’s a transparent scam.

Somehow I can hear Sam Jackson saying "Motherfucker, you want me to what? Swear me in. Motherfuckers gonna hear this."

No, I brought it up because here and other places act as if wearing a mask is a cure all. Masks help, but if you fingering it every 5-10 min it's not going to do much if COVID droplets were in the air.

GOP are not as dumb as Trump... they know what happens when Obama stands next to Trump.
