Do we do that? I don't think I've ever said "Happy Memorial Day". Is it a day we're supposed to be particularly happy about? Isn't it a day of somber remembrance and honoring the sacrifices of others, that sort of thing?

    "Happy"?
Well, Christmas has the monopoly on "merry" and we all know how serious and real the War On Christmas is. He's just being politically correct about it.

    Classy as fuck.

I'll wait for the official rebuke from the Republican party. Unless, of course, the decades of military reverence were all just an act to weaponize the military for political gain and whatnot.
BWAH HAHAHAHAHAHA! Ah that is good, the Republican party rebuke Trump if you believe that will happen I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. Seriously though the Republican party doesn't give two shits about the military and just like their ethics and morals they will throw them aside when it is the tiniest bit inconvenient for them.

    Shit Show Part 11.9k....

Whelp at least TARP we knew where all the money went and we saw that very little of it was "wasted" and it turned a profit. The companies that got loans back then, really needed the fucking loans for the most part.

Wealthiest Hospitals Got Billions in Bailout for Struggling Health Providers

Providence Health System, one of the country’s largest and richest hospital chains. It is sitting on nearly $12 billion in cash, which it invests, Wall Street-style, in a good year generating more than $1 billion in profits.

this spring, Providence received at least $509 million in government funds, one of many wealthy beneficiaries of a federal program that is supposed to prevent health care providers from capsizing during the coronavirus pandemic.

Twenty large recipients, including Providence, have received a total of more than $5 billion in recent weeks, according to an analysis of federal data by Good Jobs First, a research group. Those hospital chains were already sitting on more than $108 billion in cash, according to regulatory filings and the bond-rating firms S&P Global and Fitch

In 2018, Providence paid its chief executive, Dr. Rod Hochman, more than $10 million.
That would be enough to finance about a month of operations at the St. Claire hospitals in Kentucky.

For example, HCA Healthcare and Tenet Healthcare — publicly traded chains with billions of dollars in reserves and large credit lines from banks — together received more than $1.5 billion in federal funds

The Cleveland Clinic got $199 million. Last year it had so much money on hand — its $7 billion in cash helped generate $1.2 billion in investment profits — that it paid investment advisers $28 million to manage the fortune.

The St. Louis-based Ascension Health, which operates 150 hospitals nationwide, has received at least $211 million from Health and Human Services. The company, with $15.5 billion in cash, operates a venture capital fund and an investment advisory firm that helps other companies manage their money.

Critics argue that hospitals with vast financial resources should not be getting federal funds. “If you accumulated $18 billion and you are a not-for-profit hospital system, what’s it for if other than a reserve for an emergency?”

well I am sure the PPP is doing much better, right?

Who knows?? They won't tell us, lol. You can look at every penny given by Bush/Obama plans.

We also know nothing about where the 500 billion corporation dollars went either.

    Sigh.

Missouri health officials call for self-quarantine of partiers at Lake of the Ozarks

Yep, apparently a lot of people partied St. Louis, MR, decided to get into some packed crowds partying despite people who's job it is to save lives begging them not to. But, hey, at least they weren't packing automatic weapons this time.

There's going to be a Holiday Covid Spike for sure.

Driving back from an isolated weekend backpacking trip. I saw multiple groups of 30+ people that had set up unofficial campgrounds along the forest service road. This was in a wilderness area. I can only imagine the scene at more popular lakes.

They looked like median Trump voters, Non-college with 70k+ incomes. I mean who drives around in 60k super-duty truck, towing a 10k polaris?

National Security Adviser Claims Trump Is Working '18 Hours A Day' While Taking Hydroxychloroquine
Well we know for a fact he barely sleeps, so that part is true, but the working part is such a false claim that you can smell it before you even hear it. We know he watches t.v. for hours, otherwise known as "executive time", and considering how much he golfs that 18 hours a day definitely isn't every day.

Yeah stay classy, Mr. President. If any Dem did this alluding to service, the Republicans who wrap themselves around the military would have a heart-attack.

On a different but almost same topic was Trump retweeting Brit Hume (which was a stupid tweet, btw) about Biden wearing a mask. Trump's insecurity is so amazing about wearing a mask. Biden looked fine and Trump looked fine with a mask it is no biggie. Plus its called setting an example, which Biden was showing while wearing a mask, not grandstanding.

Which shows where Trump's mind is when he puts more thought or at least sentences into conspiracy theories, attacking people, etc. Oh Trumpkins, you were so conned. He does not care about you.

And here is Trump, yet again, setting everything up for the election.

Lets again ignore that he voted by mail-in ballot himself....
I dont see much with the tweet attacking a living member of the military, it was Memorial Day btw not Veterans day, other than an endorsement of the other person running against him.

The others meh normal stuff he tweets every day.

He lied about Lamb voting for Pelosi, he didn't. Trump also misspelled Lamb's name (first and last!). But I guess straight up lies from the president aren't a big deal as long as it's just about supporting his candidate.

This one is incredibly stupid for him. Him going "they never even thought about voting before" like that matters.

I mean, it's just him admitting that he doesn't think everybody should vote. Good leader of democracy there.

You do know that the husband of the woman Trump claims was killed by Scarbaugh is demanding Trump remove the tweet? Totes normal for Trump supporters:

“I’m asking you to intervene in this instance because the President of the United States has taken something that does not belong him — the memory of my dead wife and perverted it for perceived political gain,” Klausutis said in the letter, dated May 21. “My wife deserves better.”

YA it is normal because we know Trump and the GOP don't care about the military it is just like a coat they put on to parade around in that they can easily take off at a moments notice. For all their screaming about patriotism and 'Merica we all know they would gladly walk around a dying veteran laying on the street.

So you're okay with your president peddling conspiracy theories? https://deadline.com/2020/05/donald-...is-1202943081/

Haven't watched Morning Joe in 2 years, as they're a bit to patronizing for my taste, but after this glorious endorsement i'll give them another try!

Has our resident vet and Trump cock holster GP come in here to denounce this? I'm sure he has serious issues with the commander in chief attacking military personnel.

    That's not a defense. That's admission Trump doesn't care.
