It'd be more fun if they attached a warning to every one of his tweets "This tweet may contain false and defamatory information. Read at your own risk"

This, though there's a bit more. Refusing to take action against Trump's tweets that blatantly violate their rules is also a political/PR play. There's already a perception that social media companies are "anti-conservative" and this would be a clarion call for conservatives to "rise up" against them. Thus far the conservative alternatives have fizzled, but what about when Trump starts promoting one and creates an account there? That's a ton of engagement that they'll be missing out on, especially if Trump dumps the Twitter platform.

It's purely motivated by self-interest and survival. Even if it's not directly about lost ad revenue, it's indirectly due to the perception it reinforces.

Granted the perception is wrong and batshit crazy, but we live in a world where reality doesn't matter.

Sometimes I wish I could be in the WH Press Pool.

These reporters have mighty good control of themselves to not snap back a sarcastic response along the lines of "I dunno you dumb bitch, why wouldn't Biden wear a mask in his basement, explain to us why that's strange."

Better than...jesus I'm having to look up some of these names...Sean Spicer who had difficulty simply pronouncing words , better than Sarah Sanders who admitted that she lied to reporters while complaining that she doesn't like being called a liar for lying to reporters, better than Stephanie Grisham who for all intents and purposes literally didn't exist.

It's a low bar that's being set here, but she's hurdled it with ease.

She's a garbage human being, but she's doing precisely the job she's supposed to be doing for this administration, and she's doing it very well.

Ah, but as TMZ broke, Trump does wear a mask. When he thinks nobody is looking.

Agreed - the entire notion of a "liberal media" is a conservative creation - done because facts don't help their narrative, ever, and critical journalism is their Achilles' heel. So it's not surprising that when Deplorable-in-Chief continually and daily violates the basic tenets of a social media platforms rules, and goes unpunished, we get independent confirmation that there is either a conservative bias in the media, and/or, most of the media is about $$$ and not the news.

Simply to hide the gut, nothing more.
They are no longer producing a reality show - they are so far off the reservation fiction can't even handle it. I think The Onion is just running regular headlines now.

He wasn't gonna be Press Secretary, and he was fired 10 days before he even began. He was gonna be the communications director.

This definitely is a time Twitter needs to take action against Trump. It has been up for awhile and yes, I'm sure they are discussing it. Maybe they don't know what to do with it or maybe they don't care. If Twitter is afraid of Trump and its followers or worse just care about the bottom line, then shame on Twitter.

So, if some nutter decides to make an attempt at Scarborough or Mika resulting from Trump's tweets, what kind of legal liability falls on Trump? At least when he leaves office and can be prosecuted, that is. Would there be any? How about Twitter? Would they be an accessory for refusing to take down the information?

Social media in general turns a blind eye to right wing extremism since it is a notable source of their user base, fanatics do need their playing field and facebook and twitter gladly accommodates. Facebook is slightly turning around but even so their track record is nothing to be proud off.

Side note not just right wing fanatics but they are probably the largest segment.

Legally probably none, but even Twitter might take action if Trump says "that guy is a murderer" and someone actually murders him.

Trump eschews all legal responsibility for his words and actions, insofar as the above is concerned. The only medium for punishment, at least currently, is either Impeachment or Nov 3.

Twitter, however, might be in some serious shit (that's a legal term of art) - especially if Scarborough or Mika are killed. Twitter is violating their own terms of use - outside the political free speech category, which wouldn't be a great defense, and they would seem to be highly culpable.

Man, all those millions of job openings everywhere that are just waiting to be filled right now! These nearly 40M newly unemployed Americans are just lazy shits and there are tens of millions of well paying jobs open!

I mean, why would someone who was making decent money and is currently getting a living unemployment payment take a job working at a fast food joint for less than half of what they get on unemployment?

This should be a trigger for the administration to look at why this problem exists and how our economy is fundamentally broken and built on exploiting and keeping people poor, but nnnnaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
