There's basically two ways it can be looked at.

1) The very specific details of this very specific case, or
2) Trump's claim of absolute immunity.

As posted before, I think Trump is leaning on the second option, and there's not a ton of precedent that I know of that helps Trump in the first. It's my prediction that the court really wants to rule on #1 but Trump is full of #2.

Of course, the optics should be damning. Everyone since, and including, Nixon gave up their tax returns without question. Trump is hiding his all the way to the Supreme Court -- while also doing other things like using campaign funds to pay a prostitute, insisting that US military and foreign officials stay at his hotels (plus the hotel near the FBI office) and hiding which businesses get PPP funds. This is why you're supposed to show your taxes, and Trump is the best example ever.

Given the complicated nature of multiple agencies/states/entities/governments and their requests for what turns out to be easily obtainable information, I would be surprised if the court comes down with "absolute immunity". However, you're right that the ruling could dive into the nitty gritty of the details of the various cases, and then it becomes complicated.

One shining light in this is NYST. If they even remotely get the green light to submit documents to the House, they will do it, in a heartbeat.

The worst thing SCOTUS could do is remand for any kind of retrial or review by an appellate court. That would push any release past the Nov election, and be a yuge win for Trump.

I'm still crossing my fingers that the recently tested drug that escapes my memory helps keep the death toll down since it's shown a lot of promise for hospitalized patients, but all of this is a reminder to you--and to this TRUMP SHITSHOW administration--that we are far from out of the woods with this.

ICU beds in short supply across Florida as state struggles with coronavirus spike

Less than a quarter of hospital beds for intensive care patients are now available in Florida as the state grapples with a spike in coronavirus cases, data out of Tallahassee revealed on Thursday.

There were 1,371 adult ICU spots available out of 6,057 statewide, which is about 22.6 percent, the Agency for Health Care Administration showed in an update posted at 1:46 p.m. ET.

That troublingly low figure includes data from Broward County, Florida's second largest, which had just 20.9 percent of ICU beds ready at that time.
Hillsborough County, the state's fourth most populous county, had only 20.2 percent available.

According to the same data, 26 hospitals throughout Florida had no available ICU capacity. Miami-Dade, the state's most populous county, had three hospitals with 0 percent availability.

I mean, best of my knowledge, Congress didn't pass a special or new budget for DoT yet. And even if each of the 50 states got the $80 I saw for Texas, $4 billion, that's less than one-half of one percent of what he was asking for.
