If Fox isn't pulling any of their idiotic punches with their headlines, then I don't see why CNN should.

Additionally, CNN's title of "America takes action in direct defiance of Trump" does feel a lot more solid than Fox's usual "random talking head opines on why Trump will destroy socialist Biden" headline.

I don't know which is better:

    1) Not just the headline, but the idea it implies. Specifically, state and local governments have given up fucking around with this lethal outbreak, and Trump's word now means nothing.

    2) This line:

Florida, which on Saturday set the record for any state in single day data on new infections, now has more Covid-19 cases than all but eight entire countries.
    3) Trump is still trying to push "the Democrats just want lockdowns/online school to make me look bad" as hundreds die every day, most of them in red states, because he has no choice. What else can he say, the truth? "I barely did anything to help, and you guys are all following my example and making it worse"? Because governors are not Trump, mayors are not Trump, and Trump runs a death cult apparently, anyone who either has their citizens' well-being as part of their job is not being listened to. I posted the most recent development from NYState on FB, specifically Cuomo asking you to list all your contacts when you enter the state from a high-COVID state. One form. That you can fill out online. Someone I didn't know but lives in the area said Cuomo was a Communist who wanted to remove Constitutional rights.

And New York is doing about as well as anywhere in the States. Whoever that person is, they probably won't get sick, because of Cuomo's actions.

That's opposed to this 30 year old man, identity withheld, who went to a COVID party in Texas believing the virus was a hoax. Oh, and don't even think about saying "But What He Meant Was" because it was the guy's last words.

I think I made a mistake. I thought this was a hoax, but it's not.
So in case anyone is thinking "but Trump was talking about the Democrats accusing him of inaction early on" that's too bad, that's not the message that got out when Trump said "This is their new hoax!" and was met with thunderous applause.

The Death Cult just got one person deathier.

And Trump is talking about ratings.

The Radical Left will destroy the USA. Be careful what you wish for!
--Trump, 7 hours ago, projecting so hard he could replace the Bat Signal

    - - - Updated - - -

    What else did we miss?

    1) A federal appeals court refused to hear a lower court's unanimous decision, specifically, that Trump is not allowed to withhold funding to sanctuary cities. That's pretty much game over.

    2) Sighing and sullen, the Texas GOP begins planning an online convention. "It won't be so bad," one of them said, "we are good at the internets. In fact, I just updated the 'e' program six months ago!"

    3) Mitch "No to Everything" McConnell has been called to the principal's office. He's in talk with the WH for the next bill that he has been resisting for a month now. And, as I keep saying until I'm proven wrong, that means Pelosi gets to staple her half to it, or it doesn't pass. And that makes Trump and McConnell responsible for the biggest deficit in the history of the country ever ever. (Pelosi didn't sign up for the tax cut for the rich)

    4) Trump's campaign's latest tweets mostly focus on how June had great job growth -- leaving out that it's actually job recovery. We're down 7+ million jobs from when Trump took the oath of office, and 14+ million from February.

    5) Over five million Americans lost their health coverage this year.

Unless states are going into major lockdowns closing pretty much everything except the supermarket I'm going to go with "no, they are still not taking this seriously".
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

    Oh just you wait.
Closing down everything is the only true effective measure there is that can combat this pandemic (to a point). Washing hands and wearing mask is important but only works if the numbers are so low that the chances of getting in contact with an effected person is minimum, which is why we in Europe actually are better off then our American friends.

No, 30-35% of America has gone mad, and the world watches in shock and horror at the complete lack of common sense and general self awareness the average Trump Support seems to be afflicted by.

The Portland Mayor is more than correct by pointing out that Donald Trump telling cops to rough up people and UsE FoRcE against people protesting POLICE BRUTALITY is escalating the situation.

Yeah...rather than confront the rioters, he should just let them burn it all down. Got it.

Trump has such an utterly bizzare history. Today I learned a wierd bit of Trump's past I hadn't heard about before, the strange story of the Nabila. (Wiki link).

So, the story starts with Adnan Khashoggi, the uncle of the Khashoggi you just thought of. Adnan Khashoggi was a very interesting person, and was actually the person I was reading about when Donald Trump suddenly popped into the story. He was basically the Saudi Governments arms supplier, the guy that negotiated contracts with major western defense companies, and greased the wheels of Congress to allow the kingdom to import massive amounts of American weapons. Heavily involved in bribery, arms dealing, and all sorts of revolting shit. Anyway, this dude built a Yacht, because of course he did. This Yacht was one of the biggest in the world at the time, and was actually used by Sean Connery in Never Say Never Again as the supervillains yacht. Because Irony is apparently lost on real supervillains, Adnan apparently was fine with this.

So the Donald Trump buys the Yacht for 29 million, because why not. He does a complete refit, renames it Trump Princess, because he can't own anything he doesn't name after himself. 3 years later, he goes broke again, sells the ship for 20 million, and takes a complete loss on all the refit money and 9 million extra. Because you know, business genius here. He sells the ship to another Saudi, this one Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, whose other hobbies include building a Kilometer tall tower in the middle of nowhere, and feuding with MBS. The later hobby is rather dangerous, because it got him arresting in 2017, and apparently he is on some sort of house arrest now.

So to recap. Donald Trump is a very weird person, with really deep connections to Saudi elite, who is terrible at business and bought a literal bond villain yacht. Which he lost half the value of in 3 years. And he bought a boat from Khashogi's uncle, which is an interesting twist. I find it constantly amusing that so many Americans think this guy understands their life at all, his entire life is full of craziness like this.

On one hand you have rioters. On the other, you have people sitting peacefully protesting. Both were targeted by police violence.

If the police only went after rioters, then i'd be with you, but they have targeted even the peaceful ones.

Yeah, rather than have talks with protesters to address their grievances, we should just confront them. Using violence against those protesting the use of violence will surely help the situation.
We also don't have multiple examples of peaceful protests in the cities where the police stood down and actually engaged with the protesters. Nope.

God forbids there's other solutions other than bullying and beating people into submission.

If you were truly a "peaceful" protester, wouldn't you be far, far away from the violent ones?

Perception check time. Who were the aggressors here? The police or the rioters?

The police, considering they're the ones chocking citizens to death, tear-gassing peaceful demonstrators, and making journalists lose eyes.

Do you have any other easy questions that are answerable by just re-iterating facts?

Americans are dying en masse right now, partially as a result of the stubborn incompetence of your Dear Leader, but yeah, thank goodness he tried to defend that poor Federal Courthouse in Portland.

You ever stop for single moment, just a single second of self-reflection, and wonder if maybe it's not the world that has gone mad?

Because CNN isn't the left side of Fox - so in CNN pushing such a stark headline, we're seeing a trend in how the msm is treating the Dear Leader. I just haven't seen such a strong headline from them, at least recently. For instance, instead of using "lying" they use "mistruths" or other such non-blatant words.

Don't get me wrong, I like the trend. Trump deserves what he's sown.

Hard to say. If a group is sitting and holding signs, and some douche decides to break a window on the building you are all sitting in front of, is it fair to shoot tear gas at the whole crowd?

Not only that, but there are multiple documented instances of the peaceful protesters calling out the rioters (or, more likely, people pretending to riot to sabotage the protests) and PREVENTING them from damaging property and/or handing them over to the police. The thing you are responding to is happy to ignore things like that though since it doesn't fit its narrative.
