“Leadership: Whatever happens, you’re responsible. If it doesn’t happen, you’re responsible.” -- Donald J. Trump, 2013
"I don't take responsibility at all." -- Donald J. Trump, 2020

The irony is that HUD never enforce the "Fair Housing Act". Not even once. If a local jurisdiction did not want a low-income housing built within their area, all they had to do to get around the "Fair Housing Act" was make life miserable for the developer during the building department review and inspection phases. Then they could claim that the developer's proposed project did not meet codes, substandard, or whatever such BS.
That's from personal experience.
And a spoonful of clorox.

Haha! This moron is so senile. The brain is not there. He is dangerous because his brain is rotten. We have propped up a moron who cant even read a headline properly.
Wait am I an idiot? Many headlines are click bait. Did I get jebaited and in the article Napolitano actually calls for harsh facism and a crackdown on American citizens? Trump is a brilliant legal mind for actually reading passed the click bait and finding the nuance.
"Buh dah DEMS"
How the fuck has Gym Jordan not been kicked out of there for repeatedly taking off his mask, yelling, and interrupting other Reps? The man is a fucking lunatic, and absolutely committed to his angry victim act. The hearing was ostensibly to address anti-monopoly and regulatory issues with big tech, yet he and other Republicans decided to make it a fucking victim olympics to whinge and moan that conservatives get in trouble for breaking rules that apply to everyone.
What a fuckin clown show, and I am beyond disgusted that this is where Republican priorities are during a god-damned pandemic and in the face of increasing issues with big tech facilitating hate and dangerous misinformation.
It's horrific. Terrible idea - and they try to be so clever when Esper claims that this move will bolster the efforts against the Russians - not even making this up. Trump being a Russian stooge is at this point a foregone conclusion.

Agreed. People are posting as to why the Democratic policies are the only policies that are "right" for the United States, and we can just point to Gym Jordan and the other Republican peeps who follow the cult who's leader suggested, and then doubled down, on drinking bleach to cure a virus.
The GOP are essentially fucking imbeciles at this point, with few exceptions.
If Trump steals/wins the election in November this country is finished.

66,921 new cases; about 5k fewer than last Wednesday. The past few days have been on the whole lower than last week, so that's a good sign. Let's hope the trend holds.
California: 10,609 new cases; 195 deaths (new record)
Florida: 9,446 new cases; 216 deaths (new record)
Texas: 9,217 new cases; 313 deaths (new record*)
Georgia: 3,271 new cases; 79 deaths
Arizona: 2,339 new cases; 46 deaths
Tennessee: 1,778 new cases; 21 deaths
South Carolina: 1,737 new cases; 50 deaths
Louisiana: 1,735 new cases; 72 deaths
North Carolina: 1,715 new cases; 41 deaths
Missouri: 1,547 new cases; 10 deaths
Mississippi: 1,505 new cases; 20 deaths
Alabama: 1,416 new cases; 47 deaths
Illinois: 1,393 new cases; 16 deaths
Ohio: 1,363 new cases; 34 deaths
Michigan: 1,016 new cases; 1 death
Overall cases have been down or plateaued, which is good, though part of the reason California's cases were down the past few days was due to a backlog:
I'm not seeing any new records for cases, though some states bordering the South and Midwest are seeing an increase due to their proximity to these outbreaks (Virginia was the example I mentioned a few days ago). So far they've been manageable increases and hopefully they stay that way. We may have seen the peak for this wave, though as always I want to see another full week of data to see if there are concrete patterns.Los Angeles County reports +4,741 new cases with this note:"The high number of new cases are, in part, due to a backlog of over 2,000 results received from Thursday through Sunday." [source]
San Bernardino County reports +2,347 new cases with this note:"07/29/20 - A large amount of data was entered into the database as a result of a backlog of cases over the past several days. This caused a spike in the number of new cases." [source]
Unfortunately as you have no doubt noticed, the deaths are now escalating. 1,485 on the day; a couple hundred more than last Wednesday, putting the total at 153,840. Florida can't hide them all. Fuck Florida.
The high number from Texas, however, comes in part due to a correction:
So we can probably expect to see higher-than-expected numbers coming out of there until they're all caught up--though Texas will still likely have 200+ deaths per day for the next week. In fact we can probably expect to see deaths around this level for a while given how long Texas, California and Florida have all seen 9-10k days. The hospitals aren't getting any relief and the new cases are piling up.There has been (and currently is) a steep discrepancy in the total number of deaths reported by state and county official sources since July 27, when the Texas Department of State Health Services started counting deaths marked on death certificates as caused by COVID-19, whereas previously the state relied on local and regional public health departments to verify and report deaths. The city of Houston (representing the most notable example of such discrepancies, with Harris County reporting 685 total deaths while the state's dashboard reports 1,182 deaths) says it plans to switch to the state’s method of reporting deaths in the next few days, according to reports citing Dr. David Persse, Houston Health Authority. Counties affected are, among others: Harris, Bexar, Cameron, Galveston, Fort Bend, and Denton. Worldometer is monitoring the situation closely and trying to reconcile the conflicting reporting as best as possible pending a timely reconciliation between the two sources.
Stay safe, folks.
saw one of the turning points dopes got owned by corona, wasnt charlie kirk tho.
F

That we know of. Fuck Florida.
In related news, Dr. Fauci is saying there are 4 states that are worrying him currently: Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
This is based on the fact that those four states are showing an increase in percent positives in testing. Well see how that goes.

Interesting reading from NPR. I assume NPR is not considered fake news?
Irregularities in COVID Reporting Contract Award Process Raises New Questions
You can read the rest yourself. An NPR investigation has found irregularities in the process by which the Trump administration awarded a multi-million dollar contract to a Pittsburgh company to collect key data about Covid-19 from the country's hospitals.
The contract is at the center of a controversy over the Administration's decision to move that data reporting function from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — which has tracked infection information for a range of illnesses for years — to the Department of Health and Human Services.
TeleTracking Technologies, the company that won the contract, has traditionally focused on creating software for hospitals to track patient status. And there are questions about how it came to be responsible for gathering data in the midst of a pandemic.
Among the findings of the NPR investigation:
- The Department of Health and Human Services initially characterized the contract with TeleTracking as a no-bid contract. When asked about that, HHS said there was a "coding error" and that the contract was actually competitively bid.
- The process by which HHS awarded the contract is normally used for innovative scientific research, not the building of government databases.
- HHS had directly phoned the company about the contract, according to a company spokesperson.
- TeleTracking CEO Michael Zamagias had links to the New York real estate world — and in particular, a firm that financed billions of dollars in projects with the Trump Organization.
i think its better to let him stay and make a fool of himself.
so stupid being an anti-monopoly when half of the participants are active competitors of each other.
hell you pull amazon in but meanwhile Amazon still has 1/4 of the retail sales Wallmart does (once you break out their server business)
How the hell are they a monopoly?
Even their server business has several competitors including a 1.4 trillion dollar microsoft (who for some reason was not included, how weird owning what 97% of the OS and other software markets).
Guess MS was smart not to buy a newspaper....
Buh Byeeeeeeeeeeee !!
