32,718, about 4k fewer than last Sunday.
California: 5,096 new cases; 18 deaths
Texas: 3,335 new cases; 90 deaths
Fuck Florida.
Illinois: 1,893 new cases; 6 deaths
Tennessee: 1,854 new cases; 4 deaths
Georgia: 1,727 new cases; 40 deaths
Louisiana: 1,223 new cases; 59 deaths
North Carolina: 1,067 new cases; 7 deaths
As per usual there won't be much to glean from the reports from today or tomorrow. One thing to note is that California, Texas and Florida have all passed 600k cases while New York is at 460k. Also of note is that while California has the most cases by nearly 70k it also has far fewer cases per million population or deaths per million population than either Texas or Florida and has also done over twice as many tests (over 10 million). Despite their little pocket of Republican dipshits they've still managed to handle things pretty well overall.
There were 430 deaths reported which is about 100 fewer than last Sunday and the total now stands at 180,604. It's getting a little better--right before it gets a whole lot worse again.
For no reason whatsoever I feel like posting this in the TRUMP SHITSHOW thread to remind people that a lot of this could have been prevented. It's a Tweet from Joe Biden (highlighting an article in the Washington Post) back in October of last year:

There will be no excuses tolerated from Trump supporters that Trump was "too busy dealing with the impeachment" or that he couldn't have possibly known, because both of those are utter bullshit. Trump is 100% responsible for a large portion of those deaths and as recent polls show Republicans don't really give a fuck about people dying anyway. Fuck you.We are not prepared for a pandemic. Trump has rolled back progress President Obama and I made to strengthen global health security. We need leadership that builds public trust, focuses on real threats, and mobilizes the world to stop outbreaks before they reach our shores.
To the rest, stay safe, folks.
The Washington Post is reporting that Kellyanne Conway is leaving the White House at the end of the month, citing a need to focus on her family. This comes amid her daughter pushing for emancipation from her parents, calling her mother selfish and saying that her mother's career has ruined her life.
It's too bad Kellyanne didn't consider how the job would destroy her family before she sold her soul to the devil. Or maybe she did consider it and still figured it was worth it.

Yeah this is bad and a joke. Let's break it down
Jobs
Why not say create 1 billion jobs? I mean how? Plus you know they will take credit for the ones lost under COVID. Hey any politician would do the we got X jobs back after we lost X jobs. But cmon.
Good ole cut taxes and regulation. I mean I wont ever argue and just say "are you going to follow for that again"?
Fair Trade Deals. Trump didn't get any done in his first term. I know the the NAFTA he renamed.
COVID-19
Umm pretty much he effed up everything here I guess he will say he might try to fix it in the next 4 years. Gratz!
China
Will the hypocrite bring his jobs back? No.
All this stuff won't happen but again most of it is such hypocritical bullshit.
Plus the funny part is lets say this happens and companies move to Vietnam. Oh that is on his Third Term for his Vietnam Policy.

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect. There is nothing more or else to it, and there never has been, in any place or time. --Frank Wilhoit

Losing her is huge. She did a lot to normalize Trump for the Karen vote.
It was Trump winning about 53% of the white woman vote that helped put him over the top.
Trump is lying when he says he'll create new jobs. These are recovered jobs. And we've all seen projections those jobs would slowly return anyhow. Trump saw them and is just pledging to take credit for it.
Remember, everyone and Trump supporters too, if Trump takes credit for recovered jobs -- and we've seen proof he is -- then he also takes credits for the lost jobs. Sorry, but it's both or neither.
Looks like he's still pushing for that payroll tax cut, too.
Hmm. So my question is, besides the COVID-19 specific stuff, why didn't he do this before? Also, where's the rest of the list? Where's education? Where's farmers? I don't see anything here about the Middle East. The literal majority of this list is "I pledge to fix part of the problem I caused" and the rest is "blame China and hope that goes well".

Reading about her daughter now, I hope she gets her wish and AOC adopts her.

Man, how tough would it be for Trump to lose a brother and a lover in the matter of weeks?
N. Korea's Kim Jong-Un Reportedly in a Coma
I have yet to see it reported by any credible news source so I'm taking it with a heaping helping of salt, but this is something that could result in some pretty bad times--okay, MORE pretty bad times in the coming months.

What morons would believe that.
Struggling retailers rush to file for bankruptcy as fears of a second wave of coronavirus linger
There are 28 millions unemployed now (if you include the furloughed and gig workers that do not qualify for unemployment).
Apparently the RNC has announced that there will not be a GOP party platform for 2020 detailing what they support. Instead it's just a declaration that they support whatever Trump wants.
