The distance between what is said and what is known to be true has become an abyss. Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped form our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest.
White House staff frustrated by lack of info
President Trump's aides aren't answering basic questions about "who knew what when" about his coronavirus diagnosis — and a lot of those questions are coming from inside the house.
Why it matters: Some current and former White House officials have been privately complaining about the reckless attitude internally toward social distancing and mask wearing, feeling they are being put at risk unnecessarily every day when they show up to work.
The White House has still not adequately explained why Trump went to a donor event in New Jersey on Thursday after learning that one of his closest aides contracted the virus.
"Is it raining on you now, asshole?"
That's because the ban got blocked bitchEven some top West Wing aides were left in the dark about the chain of events that started with Hope Hicks feeling symptoms and isolating on Air Force One on Wednesday, and culminated with the president's 1 a.m. tweet that he had tested positive.
"There have been plenty of rumors, but a complete lack of information from the top," a senior administration official said.
"No one can trust what they're hearing, because even what is being said publicly doesn't seem to add up."
Pressed on the timeline that led up to a Trump trip to New Jersey for fundraisers on Thursday, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows — not wearing a mask — told reporters in the White House driveway:
"I'm not going to get into the ticktock," Meadows said.
"I can tell you, in terms of Hope Hicks, we discovered that right as the Marine One was taking off yesterday."
"We actually pulled some of the people that had been traveling and in close contact. ... [W]e had already started the contact tracing."
"Okay clear the way to the helicopter, use the tear gas on that crowd."
"Mr. Trump, those are your staffers."
"I said use the tear gas!"
Asked when President Trump knew about Hicks' diagnosis, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told Fox News' Harris Faulkner: "I don’t know the answer to that. I’m not going to get into an exact timeline."
As to the decision-making after Hicks quarantined on the plane on Wednesday night, McEnany said: "[I]mmediately when she got a positive result ... there was contact tracing that was put into place."
Officials tell Axios that when McEnany briefed reporters from the podium on Thursday, she was unaware that Hicks had the coronavirus.
A White House official tells Axios that only a small circle of officials were informed of Hicks' diagnosis immediately: "[I]t has been our practice throughout this when it comes to the personal health information of staffers, non principals, we don't share or confirm those details."
That circle didn't include several of the administration officials who traveled with the president on Wednesday or Thursday — a decision that frustrated many in the White House.
I mean yeah, but probably from this morning.
I actually went down the rabbit hole a bit on this one as the lizard part of my brain went, "THAT LIGHTING IS BRIGHT! WHERE'S THE SUN?! WAS THIS RECORDED LAST NIGHT?!"
He's in the Diplomatic Reception Room, which doesn't appear to have any windows at all (or very few) and the lighting is in-line with everything else I see from pictures in this and prior administrations.
This is why I spent 20 minutes tracking this info down before broaching the theory, because I knew it wasn't gonna pan out but that stupid lizard part of my brain wouldn't shut up.
Trump's own CDC projects 232,000 dead by Oct 24
@Benggaul has us at 213,429 now.
So, that'd be 844 a day. Again, we've all seen projections higher than that.
Here's to hoping the orange Cheeto doesn't die. Biden is definitely looking like he has the stronger case this year than even Hillary had. He certainly doesn't have any outstanding nontroversies like emails and benghazi. And we wouldn't want to give the far right lunatics a martyr. The last thing we need is a bunch of Qanons claiming the deep state liberal baby eating satan worshipping jews/blacks/muslims/poor people killed Trump to ensure he didn't get a second term.
I'd say Melania probably wouldn't mind, but that'd be pinning her as a sociopath, and kind of tasteless.
This election needs to be a referendum on Trump and a thorough rejection of far right lunacy. Not some old guy vs a homophobic old guy.
“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.”

Cliff Sims is back at the White House.
"Who?"
Trump fired him last year for writing a book about how shitty Trump is. Not the first, not the last.
"Oh jeez. Wait, he's back?"
Yeah, DNI hired him back in the ongoing effort to make things more confusing. "Bring that Ratcliffe in here" vs. "Bring that rat Cliff in here".
Simply put, Team Trump is running out of people so quickly, they've had to recycle.
Whether he lives or dies, that's going to happen. They'll paint Hope Hicks as a democratic plant sent in to try to kill Trump, or that they secretly infected her knowing she'd be in close contact with Trump. After all, they tried and failed when they infected Herman Cain -rolls eyes-
The cynical part of me wonders which outcome is the worst - Trump dies before the election and becomes a martyr? Trump survives and loses the election and completely fucks the country up in his final 2 months? Trump survives and stays in power 4 more years.

Wait... they got her test results just after she got on a Helicopter with the President of the United States? Dear god, what sort of amateur hour shitshow is this."I can tell you, in terms of Hope Hicks, we discovered that right as the Marine One was taking off yesterday."
I would fucking love to see video of their faces after realizing they just stuffed a staffer with a contagious disease into a flying metal can with the President.
Remember when Trump made fun of Hillary for getting a cold... yeah
Aye true, but my mum already convinced me has had one or more, the paticulars of the episode are interesting. But I don't think it makes his outlook any better or worse than pretty bad.
Also the green jello thing is oddly specific, not kink shaming, but is that experience talking![]()

i know this is taboo to even talk about
but in the event trump did pass away from the fake virus
the amount of conspiracy theories that will develop, they will claim the deep state poisioned him
from a Q supporter in congress...
almost as if maybe the people making a big deal of mask wearing and social distancing actually had a point this whole time..
nope crazy conspiracy theory

Per Jim Acosta:
"WH officials have serious concerns about Trump's condition tonight and his symptoms are worse than those of the First Lady at this point, according to our sources."
