Not necessarily.

They're simply incapable of feeling empathy. Which can allow them to be violent because they don't have a real understanding of why harming others is bad, but it doesn't necessarily make them violent.

Thank you for the info. Very telling that Trump seems to be essentially creating a COVID ICU in the White House, including new medical staff (housing being set up outside the White House). And from what you are saying, a confirmed treatment Trump just recently received is not for someone "out of the woods" but in fact for someone who is playing patty-cake with the Big Bad Wolf.

And of course he's still highly contagious, something he obviously cares nothing about. I've never seen a better candidate for a ventilator.

It sounds absolutely insane to say this (go figure) but his health is actually not the driving factor here; the optics and Trump's whims are. He doesn't like being in the hospital because it makes him look week and cuts him off from his rallies, and Trump being in hospital in the run up to the election is just a generally bad look for any candidate for office.

My bet is that Trump is likely never going back to Walter Reade. They're more likely to Woodrow Wilson him at this point.

2 of the gop members have the rona. If they had to hold the meeting on the floor, and they were barred from entering the chamber because, you know, the rona, they wouldn't get her out of committee. That's the whole reason I made the point that committee meetings don't have to be held on the floor, and they can hold them via teleconference.

The committee vote isn't the confirmation vote, it's just the first step in the process and most visible one because that's were the vetting arguments occur. The floor vote is the 9ne thst puts her on the bench.

Again, hard to be certain because we don't know the timeline and we don't know exactly what treatments they've been giving him; it could be very bad, but it could also just be "somewhat bad" and they're hiding it for the sake of optics.

Right, which doesn't happen without the committee vote. The nomination has to get to the floor for a floor vote. They'd have to change senate rules to get it there without a committee vote. Admittedly, it's within mcconnels power to do so if he has the votes for it, but that might be more difficult than you'd think. Voting to confirm is one thing. Voting to change the rules to allow you to confirm is a bit different. It'd be the second time in 3 years the GOP has used the nuclear option, and would essentially end the 60 vote requirement for the senate.
